How far would you travel for a meet?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I’m often torn between 30 and 40miles on the fab search bar. I’d say that’s an hours drive, I’m thinking thats my limit.
How far would you be willing to travel for a meet? Using the metric of time. |

I travel up and down the country for work and also 98 miles to my favourite club so I'd say a hundred mile radius. That would vary if it's someone I've met in a club previously as I'd be prepared to travel further. If it was someone new I was speaking to I'd have to be talking a long time to travel far due to timewaster potential though |

The potential for a time waster is probably the overriding factor for me. I think that’s why I’ve limited myself to an hour.
I guess visiting clubs and making new trusty friends might be the answer to that one. |

I’ve got on a train from Luton and gone to Birmingham twice and also gone from Luton to Bristol to meet someone. So I’d say 3 or 4 hours.
Can get pricey as I paid for travel, hotel and got dinner for us both. The connection was there prior so it was worth it x |

I've travelled to Manchester a few times; Birmingham, Sheffield and the West Country. Every time an overnight stay.
The women I met were either based from the aforementioned plates or had travelled equidistant for the date (e.g. Scotland). |

"I don't like to drive longer than 45 minutes"
On the flip side.
I wouldn't want anyone to travel longer than 45 minutes to meet me either.
What if they turn up and the attraction or spark isn't there, I don't want to feel bad or be pressured into doing anything just because they had travel x amount of time to meet me |

"Anything above two hours on a motorway and I begin to regret my life choices, I did drive to the tippiest bit of Cornwall once and back in a day though. I was crazy "
Surely not for a meet!
I just came back from there and it took 10 hours (most of that was spent on the A39 and M5) - I had lost the will to live by the time I got home. |

Oh good heavens, that was all the holiday traffic I bet I really cant face the motorway anymore, but love Cornwall. I used to fly down in my little speedy car in about 4 hrs one way. Mad, I know |

Typically within 40 mins drive is my limit. Further if I have friends or family I might be stopping with. There is one exception I have, a friend I have made off these forums who lives in Ireland. I really hope to meet her in the flesh if only for coffee. |

If it was a regular meet, 30-45 minutes would be ideal, but up to an hour would be manageable/has been known to happen.
Equally I travel for work occasionally and so sometimes meet in other parts of the country several hours away, I'm not sure if that strictly speaking counts.
I will say Fabs law is well and truly alive, and I do on occasion wish I had more work related trips to justify further travels |

I would be immensely grateful if you could kindly fill me in on this so-called "Fabs law". I'm aware of The Fåb Curse™ - a spectre that I have to live with, but this Fab's law is a new one on me. 🙂 |

Isn't filling me in your job
However, fabs law (in place of sods law) / fab curse, one and the same and quite possibly just my own variation so apologies |

I once did 4 hour coach trip to Plymouth, then they drove 40 minutes they their town. It was one of my first meets and I was young! When it had ended I was dropped off at the coach station at 5am, and remembered feeling very vulnerable. |

Depends on how interested I am. How interested I think they are. If we've met before. How well we get along.
If it's combined with work/theatre etc, a few hours. A mini adventure with someone I know well (have met before), I'm more than happy to travel for, distance irrelevant.

For a first meet I’d want to meet half way if they are far away. If there’s a spark and a want to take things further I’d be willing to travel for about an hour 40-50miles max with women I’ve played with before. |

For a new person. 20-30mins
Longest drive for someone I had met... 7 hours.
In return for him travelling nearer 12 hours of train bus and taxi to meet me the first time.
That was 25 years go though |

I regularly drive 100 miles, between 2-4 hours, traffic dependant to see one of my favourite people.
I also go to Birmingham for group socials, and there's a trip yo Manchester (4/5 hours drive) on the cards... |
