Watching the live video feed of Paris and Berlin. Ridiculous. Thousands holding cameras and phones in the air and standing in complete silence, and basically everybody filming the exact same thing and spoiling the moment. Reminds me of a few concerts and royal appearances when almost everyone has the impulse to film everything, standing shoulder to shoulder and missing out on the actual experience. Embrace the moment. I watched the fireworks in London many times and my best memory of it was the year I did not pack the camera.
