to Easter. Have you got your chocolate Easter eggs yet? When are you putting your Easter tree up? Any other Easter traditions you follow like easter egg hunts, painting eggs, baking simnel cake, lamb roast etc. |

"I don't follow any traditions but I do like Easter
I know someone who decorates their house for every festival and each of their 7 children's birthday. It such a joy to see. "
The outside of the house?
I'd love to be able to do that. I'm going to get-or possibly make-a spring wreath for my door this year. |

Yes the outside and the garden.
A spring wreath is a lovely idea after the dull winter. I had a winter one up until the fir branches and berries started to go brown. |

Earliest memories of Easter was getting a Popeye themed egg cup and mug around 1989. I was kinda upset because I discovered the egg was hollow. One year I filled an egg with melted chocolate and made it solid. Made me sick. A colleague at work said she loved Easter because she always received a new doll from her parents, and when she grew older she received CDs, DVD boxsets, and eventually cash for Easter. I had no idea that some families treated the day like a spring Christmas and spoiled their kids. I only got an egg or two and if I was lucky a Kinder surprise egg with a ferrero teeny terrapin inside. |

Those eggs with eggcups and mugs were the best! |

For those of you planning a bit of a special Easter lunch with family or friends, here is a bit of inspiration for you.
On arrival, drinks, canapés & music:
• Prosecco spritz or Bellini
• Mini spinach and ricotta puffs
• Smoked salmon blinis with dill cream cheese
• Deviled eggs with caviar
A bit of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Giovanni Allevi or Ludovico Einaudi for music
For starter- a spring vegetable risotto or add prawns too.
A crisp pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc
Vivaldi’s four seasons or a bit of Paolo Conte
For nain course- roast lamb with herb crust and mediterranean sides
A Chianti or Cabernet Sauvignon will pair beautifully
Roasted carrots with honey and thyme
Greek style lemon potatoes
Sautéed green beans with almonds
Some Andrea Bocelli or similar
Dessert -Tiramisu or lemon posset
A Vin Santo or a glass of Limoncello
Soft instrumental jazz, Antonio Carlos Jobim or Stan Getz
After lunch Easter games and final touches
Coffee or Tea: Serve with a variety of chocolate truffles and Easter candies
Pop hits or 70s/80s tunes (think ABBA, Earth, Wind & Fire)
Easter Surprises: at some point during the meal or games, surprise your guests with a small gift (a little Easter egg filled with sweets, an Easter themed trinket, or a small potted plant).
Egg Rolling Race, a traditional Easter game, where players roll decorated hard boiled eggs down a hill, trying to get them to go the furthest without cracking.
Easter Egg Hunt, hide small chocolate eggs around the garden or house for guests to find.
Egg oainting competition, set up a station with paints and brushes for guests to decorate their eggs. Offer small prizes for the most creative designs.
Guess the number of jelly beans in the jar, a fun, low-key game
Decorations: Pastels, fresh flowers, and painted Easter eggs arranged in the center. Small surprises, like chocolate bunnies or mini Easter baskets placed at each setting.

"I haven't even thought about buying eggs or anything yet. I am fancying a leg of lamb for dinner though. Sainsburys usually have them on offer just before easter."
Will keep looking for those. Lamb is not cheap these days but cooked well is so nice. See suggested menu above |
