I've just finished watching "Dirty Business" and to say it has left me apoplectic with rage is an understatement of biblical proportions. Not at the quality of the absolutely excellent programme, no, my incandescent rage is at our government. Not for the first time it has fallen on a TV show to highlight the utter contempt it has for us as a people. Not just one government but all of them since the 80's. If they're not filling young boys with hepatitis C, they're jailing perfectly decent members of our communities from the post office, covering up pdo rings, letting prisoners out early, etc etc, and now the full scale of their corruption with the water companies has been documented. Children died, lives have been ruined, and they couldn't wait to stoke the flames by pushing for more and more deregulation - sound familiar to the Grenfel scandal?? I am genuinely interested in politics and love our country, but I can no longer stomach the line we have always ben fed about Britain being a bastion of decency and fairness. Wow; when will this all end???? I half knew about the pollution scandal before, but the extent of the corruption is gobsmacking. As I said - Livid!!

I haven't watched but it's been going on off the coast here for years. When raw sewage was filmed going directly into the sea from an outflow pipe the water authority told us it was mud washed off from the roads. 🤷♀️ |
