Is dogging a dying art form and if so...

...why do we think it is?

- The increase in popularity of sites like this?

- The internet in general?

- Locations being shared on websites and subsequently being ruined by boy racer types?

- Something else?

- All of the above?

I work in London and live in South Yorkshire. 9/10+ years ago you couldn't pass an open piece of land at night time around Doncaster without seeing something happening. I'm yet to find a really popular venue down in London but I've been told there was places that were rife around about the same time but have died off.

What do we think the issue is or are there some of you who still think it's fairly active?

I think a lot of people are put off by the popularity of local ‘spotted’ type Facebook groups. It used to be that if you got caught, you would just get a bit of a telling off and move on.

Now it would be posted all over the local groups with your reg plate

I think as much as the “thrill & excitement” aspect of it, majority of people want to play in safe environments.

People have certain jobs, if they were to be caught.. Could be detrimental, career wise or even personally.

There's still a lot of places for men to go cruising u just have t find them. I know at least 10 places i visit quite often. Granted some are a bit of a drive but worth it i think.

"Has dogging ever been an art form?"

Maybe there's a hidden banksy at some of the locations and no one has noticed.

I v much doubt the arts council would give a grant or sponsor a car park for this sadly …

A blue plaque. "This location was famous for dogging, a British hobby."

Dogging is NOT an artform.

Imho it's grim and it's as unsafe as sex might get.

I would suggest that perhaps less people are drawn to it out of desperation for sexual contact these days.

Given how many other ways they can now arrange safer ways to access a willing partner.

The UK's collective wants and needs evolve and I think this is the key. 20 years ago the internet and thus new found sexual delights were still relatively new.

Fast forward 20 years, people demand bigger thrills, in more comfort, in less time and with greater certainty. They aren't generally prepared to wait around in car parks for a less than stellar experience.
