While reading the news on my phone (ironic) with a coffee, I wondered how many of you pay attention to your screen time?
I’ve been making a conscious effort to unplug for a while now. My daily average for the week is 2hrs 39mins.
What’s yours now? No cheating!📱 |

My daily average is 3h 53m which isn’t great. I too have been making conscious efforts to reduce my screen time by deleting apps but Fabs doesn’t help which easy access to cure the afternoon curiosities close to hand

4 hrs 58mims. Which is kinda high for someone without Faceache or ticbullshittok but my daily commute is 90mins there and 90mins back where i tend to either watch Netflix or use Duolingo.

"Nobody would bat an eye if you were reading an actual book or newspaper but if it's on a screen it's bad.
🤷♀️"
Sleep Disruption: Blue light from screens interferes with sleep patterns, resulting in shorter and lower-quality sleep.
Mental Health Issues: High screen usage is associated with increased risks of anxiety, depression, hyperactivity, and social-emotional problems.
Something we can't really avoid in this day and age, but should be aware of, we use blue light glasses for computer screen and TV.. |

I don’t believe it’s about good or bad necessarily. For me, an hour reading a good book is more beneficial than an hour scrolling mindlessly on social media that’s all. It’s simply a tool I use for self reflection🙂.

Fortunately the 8 hours a day I spent with two screens didn't have that effect on me but we had safety measures in place ...look in to the distance every 30 minutes, so that was all fine 🤷♀️🤦. Oh and we watched videos (on a screen) of how to avoid rsi and sit properly and got shipped off to Specsavers every now and again.
Using a screen is a habit I grew in to over many years and it's difficult to break

"My screen time used to be ridiculous but I’m now at about 4 hours. Need more balance in my life but 🤷♀️"
It’s definitely a challenge for sure. The article I read some time ago presented the example that 4hrs a day equates to 60 days a year looking at a screen. It was talking about phones of course, not computers during the working day etc. |
