Anyone else on one of these infernal machines. I'm having a nightmare trying to keep the seal all night. I seem to manage between 1.5 and 2.5hrs before I give up in disgust and pull it off. The only way I've managed to get over the recommended 4hr minimum is to crank the straps so tight the bridge of my nose gets bruised.
Anyone else found a solution |

You can actuallyput the mask on to tight and it does take a while to get used to it so try using it not so tight. When you wash it use fairy liquid and shake it and leave to dry on kitchen paper until night.Had mine about 7 years now.Good Luck |

I think I fidget and moving my head knocks it and breaks the seal, then the extra air rush wakes me and I begin a frantic few minutes of trying to resolve it.
The bloody thing may be stopping the apnea but my sleep quality is pants as I keep being woken up |

Try using nasal cushions instead of a fitted mask, unless you breathe a lot through your mouth. Don't over tighten the strap, this can be counter productive and uncomfortable.Sleeping on your back helps too, but took me ages to get used too.
Stick with it. You'll see a massive improvement in your sleep and not feeling tired all day. But in all honesty I wish I didn't have to use it.
One other point, make sure you wash your mask daily, paying particular attention to the seal. Use a non scented washing up liquid. |

I have severe sleep apnea. I was effectively waking 38 times every hour and blood oxygen levels dropping below 90% at times so will also need it for life as without it I'd be putting myself at risks far worse than tiredness. |

With a cracking view |
I have the nose 'lego' as I call it !
Not strapped tight at all, would probably be described slightly on the loose side.
However, and this is where it works for me, I tend to sleep semi-prone, though slightly more prone than on my side , if that makes sense.
It allows me to have my head on the edge of the pillow, with my CPAP more off the pillow than on, with my head waying down the strapping.
I use a memory foam pillow for the full effect.
It works for me when I do get to sleep ! |
