"I just watched The VVitch
It was shit.
What shit films have you wasted your precious life watching?"
Watched heretic the other day, the third act was the only interesting part, it was basically an hour of Hugh Grant ranting about religion…. Then some interesting bits…. Faaaar more disappointing than the trailer promised |

I've watched a lot of bad movies in my time none of them I can ever call shit.
Why?
Because there is one exception that has the bar set so low, it makes even the worst of the bad seem good.
That is Movie 43 |

Agreed. The film set up a reasonable premise. Ruined every interesting angle it had. And then ended with a very mediocre finale |

That's the one, and the iconic Hugh Jackmans ball chin.
Fair enough it's a bit of an anthology short movie deal but still.

Night on earth was very disappointing. Winona ryder being very unconvincing as a chain smoking cab driver with a mega dodgy accent did it for me.
Sadly she dragged Gena Rowlands through the mud on that one.
The Holiday is yhe worst film I've ever encountered, and ive watched the Phantom Menace so i know what I'm talking about here.

Can't think of the name of it, it was that dull, but the one where there was this race of blue aliens and it was all shot in 3D...Where they had clearly spent about forty million quid on SFX and about 50p on the actual script. |

Avatar.
The film was shit.
But the 3DFX were pretty mind blowing at the cinema in 2009 |

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997). Wanted to walk out of the cinema.
Indiana Jones 4: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Terrible CGI and script.
Noah (2014). Giant rock creatures helped Noah build his ark? Not exactly what we were taught at Sunday school.

Never seen it. It's incredible they made a movie based on emojis |

Have to agree on The Heretic. Plain boring, after a decent set up. Recently saw Sinners and although not that bad, I cannot believe how many Oscar’s it was up for. Really?! It was just a decent vampire movie |

I would argue most Oscar films are average. Only a few are actually worth any sort of praise. And I still haven't seen Sinners 😂 |

*Donnie Darko - well shot and good soundtrack but a mess
*No country for old men - Couldn't be arsed concluding the character future you've been following the entire film!
*Star Wars (Any) - I'm the perfect audience member, right age and saw the originals at the movies, love Sci-fi but they never connected with me.

Agreed. Sinners was a decent vampire film but because it had a 99.9% black cast that's enough for Hollywood to make it oscar worthy. Same goes for the first Black Panther film which was good, but not that good. |

Not even the prospect of having a place to kiss and make out was enough to make us stay!! It was that bad! Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 |

You gotta be joking, Rexie.
I was only singing the praises of Ghost…. A true tear-jerker 🥺
And it makes me sad that you would not try the Dirty Dancing jump/hold with me 🥲🥲🥲
For clarification: I bloody adore both films |

I loved that movie as a kid, but yeah watched it again recently and realised how bad it was. But in a funny way

The Road.
I’ve read the book, I’ve seen the film twice (I was at least paid to watch it the first time) and I still find it the most boring piece of shit I’ve ever consumed. I’ve read AARs of ancient troop movements more interesting than The Road |

The House that Jack built, Lars Van Trier film. It has a scene in it that I couldn’t watch and I have seen plenty of films that are gory or exploitative in some way.
Funny Games, in which the Director Michael Haneke is basically is telling the audience off for watching films similar to this one.
Both of these films have high scores on IMDB etc… both annoyed the hell out of me.

The American remake of ‘The Vanishing’ so bad they changed the ending for an American audience.
Another film that is so shit it actually makes me angry when I think about it.
I’ve stopped thinking about it now though |

You can't possibly be including Point Break in that.
The absolute worst film (and I strongly recommend that you don't seek it out, but if you do don't plame me) is Quintet, even though the star is Paul Newman it's apallingly awful. |

Pulp Fiction.
I went to see it at the pictures and thought it was the was the buggest load if crap I'd ever seen.
I've seen it twice more because people have tried to persuade me that it is the "Awesome" or that I "missed the point" or something... it was still crap.

I watched a shit film on Netflix last night called Thrash. It was about a storm that results in a town being flooded and sharks swimming around, like a slightly more realistic (but still very unrealistic) Sharknado. Lacked the comedy value of Sharknado. |

Oh gawd, Steph - you’ve made me think about the original (French or Dutch version - I can’t remember).
The most terrifying film I’ve ever seen…and there’s not a drop of blood or gore in it. I saw it over 30 years ago, and I’m still a mess when I think about it.
There used to be a Bad Film Club in South Wales that was very popular (maybe it’s still going). I think the worst thing I ever saw at it was Basic Instinct 2. I pointed out a continuity error in the film and my “prize” for being a pedant was to take away the copy of the film that was used!

London has Fallen came on TV once. I thought I'd give it the benifit of the doubt and gave it 30 minutes in the hope it would get better. It didn't, I switched channels and that's 30 minutes of my life I won't get back.

Heretic is one of my all time favourite films. In fact I've seen it twice which is something i'd never normally do.
It was a film that explored beliefs and moral conviction. An utterly remarkable film on so many levels. The psychological tension throughout the film couldn't be cut - not even with the sharpest knife. Acting from all involved - superb. The ending .... well it left food for thought and I wanted it tied up neatly in a bow...
Fabulous film |

Oh I could list loads.
Two that stick in my mind though as not only plain bad, but insultingly bad:
Transformers and The Last Jedi.
All the special effects in the world can’t save inherently shitty films.
