Watched heretic the other day, the third act was the only interesting part, it was basically an hour of Hugh Grant ranting about religion…. Then some interesting bits…. Faaaar more disappointing than the trailer promised

I've watched a lot of bad movies in my time none of them I can ever call shit.

Why?

Because there is one exception that has the bar set so low, it makes even the worst of the bad seem good.

That is Movie 43

Agreed. The film set up a reasonable premise. Ruined every interesting angle it had. And then ended with a very mediocre finale

Night on earth was very disappointing. Winona ryder being very unconvincing as a chain smoking cab driver with a mega dodgy accent did it for me.

Sadly she dragged Gena Rowlands through the mud on that one.

The Holiday is yhe worst film I've ever encountered, and ive watched the Phantom Menace so i know what I'm talking about here.

Can't think of the name of it, it was that dull, but the one where there was this race of blue aliens and it was all shot in 3D...Where they had clearly spent about forty million quid on SFX and about 50p on the actual script.

Agreed. Sinners was a decent vampire film but because it had a 99.9% black cast that's enough for Hollywood to make it oscar worthy. Same goes for the first Black Panther film which was good, but not that good.

The House that Jack built, Lars Van Trier film. It has a scene in it that I couldn’t watch and I have seen plenty of films that are gory or exploitative in some way.

Oh gawd, Steph - you’ve made me think about the original (French or Dutch version - I can’t remember).

The most terrifying film I’ve ever seen…and there’s not a drop of blood or gore in it. I saw it over 30 years ago, and I’m still a mess when I think about it.

There used to be a Bad Film Club in South Wales that was very popular (maybe it’s still going). I think the worst thing I ever saw at it was Basic Instinct 2. I pointed out a continuity error in the film and my “prize” for being a pedant was to take away the copy of the film that was used!

I’ve stopped thinking about it now though

Oh gawd, Steph - you’ve made me think about the original (French or Dutch version - I can’t remember).

The most terrifying film I’ve ever seen…and there’s not a drop of blood or gore in it. I saw it over 30 years ago, and I’m still a mess when I think about it.

There used to be a Bad Film Club in South Wales that was very popular (maybe it’s still going). I think the worst thing I ever saw at it was Basic Instinct 2. I pointed out a continuity error in the film and my “prize” for being a pedant was to take away the copy of the film that was used!

"

The Vanishing was given a 12 rating so imagine how many children also had nightmares after seeing it.

"The American remake of ‘The Vanishing’ so bad they changed the ending for an American audience.

Another film that is so shit it actually makes me angry when I think about it.

Oh my giddy aunt, that’s totally bonkers!

Lots of the fabled 'greats' are completely shit.

Lots of unsung phenomenal films lurking under the radar.

London has Fallen came on TV once. I thought I'd give it the benifit of the doubt and gave it 30 minutes in the hope it would get better. It didn't, I switched channels and that's 30 minutes of my life I won't get back.

Too many to remember, but the ones that stick in my mind are resident evil: welcome to raccoon city and it’s once upon a time in Hollywood - regretted not leaving the cinema after half hour in both cases

Watched a lot of not so good movies but very few I never watched all the way through but I just couldn't do it with Joker: Folie à Deux. Not saying it's shit some people will love it but definitely not for me.

100% if they did away with Lady gaga and all the singing it would have been a decent film

"I just watched The VVitch

It was shit.

What shit films have you wasted your precious life watching?

Watched heretic the other day, the third act was the only interesting part, it was basically an hour of Hugh Grant ranting about religion…. Then some interesting bits…. Faaaar more disappointing than the trailer promised

Agreed. The film set up a reasonable premise. Ruined every interesting angle it had. And then ended with a very mediocre finale

The finale left questions, but you had to look really hard for them!

I thought it just ended with Hugh Grant as a madman psycho that actually didn't have any answers to anything..."

Heretic is one of my all time favourite films. In fact I've seen it twice which is something i'd never normally do.

It was a film that explored beliefs and moral conviction. An utterly remarkable film on so many levels. The psychological tension throughout the film couldn't be cut - not even with the sharpest knife. Acting from all involved - superb. The ending .... well it left food for thought and I wanted it tied up neatly in a bow...

Fabulous film

Somewhere In The Ether…

Oh I could list loads.

Two that stick in my mind though as not only plain bad, but insultingly bad:

Transformers and The Last Jedi.

All the special effects in the world can’t save inherently shitty films.

The plot. The cinematography.

I'd have to watch it again to remind myself why else I liked it.

I had to sit through the "Nan" movie with that Kathryn Tate and Mathew Horn.

My eyes have never been the same since

Pulp Fiction.

I went to see it at the pictures and thought it was the was the buggest load if crap I'd ever seen.

I've seen it twice more because people have tried to persuade me that it is the "Awesome" or that I "missed the point" or something... it was still crap.

Cal"

I've never heard this before. I assumed everyone liked Pulp Fiction
