Not always. My friend literally turns heads wherever she goes, but genuinely has no clue about it. On a day/night out she is so interested in her friends, she doesn't see anyone else.
We constantly have to point put interested parties to her...she's oblivious!  |

I think some people that are ok looking think they are more attractive than they are and can come accross as arrogant and up themselves. I think real natural beauty doesnt demand attention and just is. Like a previous poster just said about her stunning friend that is oblivious to how stunning she is. Thats true beauty x

Some definitely think they are,my youngest son has turned heads since junior school he has the charm to but God doesn't he know it
One of my closest friend is stunning and she just doesn't realise it,she's also gorgeous on the inside |

One of our kids has a friend who is beautiful, I mean really properly beautiful. She's completely unaware.
On general though I think very attractive people know they're not ugly unless they have body dysmorphia or are very insecure |

"Someone can be "hot" initially but once you get to know them, it's suprising how this cools off."
Very true, we have met some very beautiful women over the years but some turned to be completely vacuous and not very nice people with terrible attitudes. Some people depend on their looks to get through life and end up boring as hell as a result.

Agreed. Maybe it's because I'm getting on a bit but I'm tired of the self deprecating state that our culture seems to demand. More people should find happiness in how they look.
I think sometimes if a person doesn't like another they're more likely to find them arrogant, think they're not *all that* and try and put them in their place. It's weird. Kind of sad. |

I dont think the majority of people would dare to admit it in this day and age because it seems to garner negative comments from some others being accused of being "arrogant" or "loves herself".
I personally think its nice to see people happy with the way they look at a time when we boast about being/wanting body positivity.
Of course there are exceptions of actual arrogance but again i think this is in the persons personality not about there looks. |

Totally agree with the self love part and we all should be kinder to ourselves. Nothing wrong with someone liking how they look at all. I love how I look because I am a combination of my parents and unique as all of us are. Sadly arrogance is implicitly linked with self infatuation and the belief that others are not good enough as a result. Thats the type of arrogance and "up themselves" I was talking about x

There’s this woman who pops up in my social media feed who shows off what she’s wearing as a plus sized woman and every video of hers she says ‘I know I look good in everything’ and I love that about her. She absolutely does too. I’m with _eli, I’m tired of everyone downplaying their own happiness about their appearance. Embrace it at least sometimes when we are feeling fabulous about outself! |

Oh i agree but self infatuation is more than just about looks. I believe if somebody is that personality type it would show despite there aesthetics. I just think sometimes it is assumed (in general not by you) that it can often be used as a tool to beat people down with x |

Being a TV comes with such a duality.

Depends. Some people are very attractive but don't acknowledge or believe this due to confidence issues.
Some know exactly how attractive they are and leverage it to the maximum.
Some believe they're more attractive than in reality they are.
The unassuming but quietly confident attractive types are the ones that most appeal. |

I think those ultra good looking people probably all know. I then think there are a load of normal level of good looking people who don't know and some non-good looking people who think they are good looking.

I think it entirely depends on their personality. Some people can be hot and not know it or think people are being nice whereas others who do know can act the way they do as the people around them feed into it. |
