Let’s have your advice to the poster
Looking for those serious answers and the down right ridiculous
I’m currently mid-divorce papers were served, he didn't even bother to respond (typical 🙄), so I was all set to just go for the default judgment and get it over with.
BUT ... literally just as I’m about to finish it, his dad passes away. Sad, obviously, but now he’s come into a bit of inheritance.
Now I’m sitting here like ... hold on a minute. The terms I filed for originally were based on us having basically nothing. This is a whole new "reality." If I just push through with the original papers, am I being a mug and walking away from money I should be considering?
Do I amend the terms now to reflect his new bank balance?
Or do I just leave it and get him out of my life ASAP? 🏃♀️
I don't want to look like a gold digger, but I also don't want to be realistic and look after my own future. Is it "calculated" or just "smart"?
What would you lot do? Stick or twist? 🤔 |

I sometimes wonder if people would change their minds about divorce if one of them suddenly got loads of money.
When I got divorced I was just glad to get away |

Yes you definitely look like a gold digger. Divorce is about parting from someone you’re not happy with, not about getting money from them that was never yours anyway. Best of luck with whatever you do. |

Maybe this mythological woman feels she's due repayment for all the hours she worked while he was writing his novel that never got published.
I hope Sam appreciates my commitment to this |

Divorce is moving away from the person and getting on with your own life. The fact that one person has come into money should have no bearing on tbe fact especially once papers are already being processed. Going after his inheritance is just being a gold digger. And wrong in my opinion,it was inheritance for him from his father. |
