It really comes down to the fact that it’s some of both. While the primary goal is definitely about internal alignment and finally "feeling right" in our own skins, as trans people we are still human with the same universal desires as anyone else. Just like everyone else, we want to feel confident, look our best, and be seen as desirable by others. The internal feeling provides the peace of mind, but the external look is about the joy of finally liking what you see in the mirror and moving through the world with confidence.
