When do you prefer going to the gym? Early morning, afternoon or evening?

I prefer evenings. Quiet compared to afternoon and I seem to have more energy at night.

I have always been an early morning goer. Get it done at 6am. Sets you up for the day.

I prefer morning and Mrs prefers evening. Works for us as we have staggered start times at work.

I've never tried 6am gym routines before. I'm just used to going in the evening and having a good session.

"Evening for sure. My body is just not ready for a workout in the morning."

Mine isn't either. I think it is because I am so used to do night shifts etc that my body is used to being active at night.

I try to get there during the afternoon between the lunch and post work rush and the same timings seem to work best at the weekends too. I prefer it when the gym’s quiet and I’m not queuing for the kit I want.

I think you're also generally stronger later in the day - warmer body etc.

I work out at home so I don't need to worry about the gym being busy, but I tend do evenings on weekdays and mornings on weekends, which just fits in best with my life.

There's no noticeable change in performance and motivation varies from day to day.

I've often thought about doing home workouts. Getting some weights and just doing it at home.

It's really convenient, main limitation is no machines and lack of really heavy weights, but I've got a 35kg dumbbell set which pretty much does me for legs and I've got a bench and a few lighter sets that I've bought over the years.

I don't gym. But if I run or work out its usually about 5am. I get less motivated as time goes on!

100% the morning for me. Like to be one of the first ones in so I can get my pick of the benches/machines. Also sets me up nicely for the day ahead

I hate waiting and queuing especially when someone, mostly young lads are just messing around.

Early, but not too early.. anytime from about ten, to give me enough time to eat a little something then give it at least an hour to go down.

I hate trying to eat as soon as I wake up, but I've found if I do my workout on an empty stomach it gives me a headache. So had to find a balance between the two 👍

I always go after work as it helps with the release of the day. It is busier but I'm not a morning person. I tried doing it in the morning before work for about 6 months and while I liked getting it out of the way, I burnt myself out quite quickly because I just couldn't get to bed early enough.

Not a morning person. Late morning is my ideal but that work thing has a habit of getting in the way So if not then, then evening time.

When I can - I work long hours, 6 days a week, but my gym is at work, so I nip in for a 40 minute weights routine 3x per week, usually instead of eating lunch. Then 3x per week cardio on the other days, just 20 minutes or so of rowing. If I miss my usual slots, it can get very full of the Social Gym crowd, and gets very frustrating.

I usually go in the afternoon or evening with a friend or our eldest daughter for company. MrCC prefers to go at 4am.

I don’t mind it busy but he like to go when he knows he’ll be able to get on the equipment he wants, in the order he prefers.

Do prefer the morning as it is quieter. But can't always make that. So I So try to time it on an evening when it isn't full of guys admiring themselves and chatting around the machines lol
