Evening all,

Had my wisdom teeth removed other day but seems like the pain is getting worse even after taking painkillers that were prescribed and making use of ice packs.

Anyone else had them removed please let me know how you managed the pain from it

I have. It took 3 months until I could open my mouth to be able to shout at the kids, they loved it

Depends how deep and difficult they were to remove. Drilled bone? Sliced gums?

Got to be very careful with infection too. Also no cotton buds left in gum....

Hey OP, how long ago did you have the op and has the pain been getting worse?

I was given some painkillers and that's about it. My recovery was fairly straightforward. I felt like I lost some wisdom though. I was never the same again.

Contact your dentist. Ask for help. If you can't talk, send an email.

Lots of druqs, set an alarm. Keep taking druqs until the pain subsides. Plenty of rest and organise a few days worth of liquid meal

Do you smoke, OP?

Dry socket is quite common after wisdom teeth removal if they were your lower ones. If it doesn't get any better after pain killers maybe consider phoning your dentist back for stronger pain relief or antibiotics.

It might be something called a dry socket. Salt water rinses might help.

I had a dry socket after an extraction. It was packed with a dressing with pain relief in it. It was a blissful relief. Get in touch with your dentist

It’s quite common and very painful to get an infection after wisdom teeth removal. Especially if it was in the lower jaw…..I would get back in touch with your dentist if the pain is getting worse xx 😘

I had 2 of mine taken out in dental practice when I was 6 months pregnant and then I went to work straight after.

Literally was fine.

Pain suggests you might have a dry socket. Eat soft foods, keep the area clean with salt water washes, take pain relief and bite on clean gauze. If it persists or the pain gets worse your dentist can pop in a medicated dressing that will help

Took one out myself. it was a bit loose and I kept catching it when I ate...lost my temper one night with it and removed it.

Left it 24 hrs then hot salt water every couple of hours for a day...jobs a goodun
