I think it's a measure of involvement at the sharp end of the pitch, but, as with most football metrics, it's an imperfect one. In fact, some of the best assists don't show up in the stats e.g. Szoboszlai's dummy for Ngumoha's winner at Newcastle at the start of the season. |
