If there was a REAL LIFE BLOCK BUTTON that you could press so that you could no longer see or hear someone and they couldn't contact you ...... WHO would you block , WHY would you block them and WHAT difference would that make in your life ..... ????

The woman in a nearby house who holds extensive and detailed conversations with her friends at a level of decibels usually only obtained with a megaphone. I know more about her private life than I need to |

I have two . My obnoxious neighbour who walks over to 'chat' to me each time he sees me. ( for chat read busy bodying ) and a woman who always tells petty lies who is in our coffee group... just turning them both off would make my life that little bit better. |

They've already done a Black Mirror about this. |

Sidetracking a bit
Why do the lying people do it? A previous neighbour of ours lied all the time, things that even she must have known would eventually and very obviously be proved wrong |

"To be honest, I actually do cut ties with people pretty well. It takes a lot to reach that point, but when I do its like they never existed.
Petty things tend to just wash over me these days "
I’m similar
If I’ve reached that point I will cut someone entirely from my life |

I guess it might be different for different liars. The one in our group - I always think she feels inadequate. It seems she has to do it to gain admiration which is a bit sad. |

I give too many chances to people but when I'm done I be very very decisive about it. There's no tearing down the wall.
The only person I currently wish I could 100% block is the exhusband.
I've zero contact and even had to block him on LinkedIn ffs, but he still tries to initiate through the kids or through things like group chats for their activities.
He's a relentless toxic manipulative asshole. Narcissism-deniers can do one because he's all that and more.
I look forward to the day they're all 18+ and out of school, clubs, etc so those avenues cease to exist.
Life is so lovely and we all deserve to enjoy it peacefully.
Happy Saturday everyone 🫶💫 |

No he was my boss at 14, groomed me into thinking I did and we got together when I turned 18. So no I didn’t really love him! |

As a footnote and not to derail the topic, I'd say 'did the person you held feelings for actually exist?' Because in the early stages, often times, it's just a facade and not their full self you are allowed to see until you're in it with a ring, kids, etc. |

A woman in I see in town, that I call mood hoover.
Always moaning and groaning about something and makes a beeline for me. I don't know her, apart from these exchanges, but she lives near me unfortunately . |

The one that I had to get a restraining order against and the one that got under my skin when I was still vulnerable recovering from the first.
Neither of them bother me any more, but I'd be happier to know they cannot be nosey or contact me 💜 |
