I was put off watching it for a long time because it's one of my ex husband's favourite films (I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it in an attempt by him to watch it with him)
I hear good things about it but my actual only opinion of it so far (and I'm an hour and 25 minutes into it so far) is fuck, this is long. |

Trust me on this: "Glen or Glenda", by Ed Wood.
It's so damn weird that it's almost mesmerising, and puts you in an dreamlike state, and helps you drift off. There was a period of a couple of years when I would put it on every Sunday night to secure proper sleep for getting up for work the next day.
I love the film, and it's restful vibes are really comforting. |

I rewatched that recently, I was reading about it. The movie was based on a real life actual interaction between a hardened criminal and a policeman back in the 60s, but they've given it the Hollywood twist. The ending is a classic IMO. But then I love gangster movies |

Runaway Train (1985) Classic Jon Voight film. About two escaped convicts who climb on a train destined to crash. A film with many deep symbolic scenes about life, freedom and self sacrifice.
Triple Cross (1966) starring Yul Brynner and Christopher Plummer. A double agent working for both the allies and axis powers in WW2. Easy to follow and something to watch while dozing on the sofa. |

I grew up watching 80's and 90's films. None of them reflected the life experiences I had. I was living vicariously. Also it was interesting to see life depicted without the internet in most of those films. |

Mortal Kombat 2. Good film. Better than the first as it featured more characters from the game and had more fights. Good for the fans, their partners and everyone else. Johnny Cage steals the show with his one-liners although he's closely followed by Kano and Barraka. Does what it says on the tin. Full of fatalities.
(No end credits but a good tune)
