I'll trade 2 hours of me cleaning a kitchen for someone to shorten my living room curtains (lined, sewing machine provided)

A day without depression would be fantastic, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

One of my pals has turned into 'the hoarder next door'

You literally can't get in his flat for clutter

It's an issue - to the degree he doesn't know where to start / how to sort

I have offered to take time off work, go in armed with bin bags and bottom the place out

He won't have it though

I accept the position is much deeper, (it is effectively a mental illness at this point), but I do wish he'd let me help

I’d like an organiser to come in and sort out my storage.

I’m fed up of having emotional attachments to tops and dresses I bought years ago!

I've figured this out. There's a little delete all button. Job done!

Definitely up for doing the gardening.

As long as you don’t mind me in bikini and wellies 🤣

Once seen, never forgotten. Not enough eye bleach to sort out resulting trauma.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'd love to take over someone's life for a day.

They'd certainly find it interesting coming back next day to the chaos I'd left. Definitely interesting, if not necessarily productive

I wouldn't mind this! Anyone fancy doing a leg day at the gym followed by some meal prep? 😅

I think the worry is that someone else will throw something away they think is important.

I get that from an admin perspective, but a lot of the things are just unopened boxes of stuff bought from amazon, temu etc - multipacks of crisps, chocolate, drinks etc, literally unopened, just tossed into a corner or on the floor

Then the bags of clothes, many still in their unopened bags

The mountains of unopened letters, I could put together for him to go through, but I don't think he wants to do that - that would mean action and accepting responsibility

To me, he has shut down - adulting he just can't cope with

As I said, earlier - it's a mental health issue and his GP is aware - despite the denial - but, as with many cases in this area, things move at a glacial pace

I just think helping to tidy up, make things manageable, giving him some floor space and living space back might, just might, help to bring a chink of light
