Blocking the sun , conspiracy or fact

"I read a few weeks ago that in so many billions of years it was going to die out (or explode, I can’t remember which) and that would be that.
I think the Universe has it’s own plan."
I think in about 5 billion it will go super nova expanding first then contracting if u remember rightly?
Hence why eleon musk wants us to learn to travers the universe, but like 5 billion is still a long time to figure that out. |

It sounded more like an implosion than anything dramatic but apparently Earth may be a goner before then anyway.
But great minds are looking into ways to fix that.

Our star will expand in to a red giant in its later life and all of the inner planets will be consumed within the red giant, long before it finally dies.
I can't remember if it'll be an explosion or an implosion. I think our star doesn't have enough mass for it to be an implosion, so it would be an explosion that would take out whatever was left in the solar system.
Earth and all of the inner planets would be long cooked a very long time before they get consumed. |

There's been some suggestions that we somehow reflect sunlight back, but the amount of reflective surface required makes it highly infeasible. |

There was a news report many years ago on the major channels regarding climate change. The idea from some scientists was to create a new ozone layer to block the sun or minimise it's harmful rays. Sciencey stuff beyond my understanding.
It's also part of the story in The Matrix. The Machines figure out a way to block the sun.
Don't believe everything you read. Definitely get out there and interact in the real world. |

Ok thank you. Is that to stop global warming because me washing my tins and recycling toilet roll tubes isn't working? |

Red giant, then white dwarf, I seem to remember. Not enough mass to get to supernova. My favourite fact is that every atomic nucleus bigger than iron was made in a supernova. So if you wear gold jewellery you have a bit of material on you forged in the explosion accompanying the death of a star. Who needs religion? |
