Mines roasted lamb, mashed and roast potatoes(carb overload) all the trimmings. And a big homemade yorkshire with gravy made with the juices and a dash of mint sauce. 🤤🤤🤤

Yes, we either cook one or go out to a local public house.

Last Sunday we went into the city for a delicious roast.

I make a good roast, usually chicken though prefer beef. I don't do it often as it seems pointless to do it just for myself lol.

I don't have a routine Sunday Lunch. I eat food. I repeat.

If I had to choose a meal for every Sunday it would be:

Roast chicken with slightly spicy seasoning, fat sweet potato chips with skin on, lamb seek kebabs (the long thin ones), mini samosas (chicken, lamb and veg) and chutney.

For dessert I would have cheesecake and some tea.

I only have one every once in a while.

It's too much faffing around cooking it all, then the mountain of washing up to do afterwards.

Roasties are the best part anyway.

Not every Sunday but most. When we do, it's about having it cooked well (veg not overcooked, etc), nice gravy and a variety of veg, rather than specific dishes. Will sometimes have a meatless roast and just enjoy the veg.

Today it will be a butter chicken curry that I cooked last night but we weren't hungry enough to do it justice.

I absolutely love cooking, but Sunday roasts do my head in. Spend half the day back and forth and it's cheaper and just as nice to go for a carvery ..and zero washing up!

I love a Sunday roast but find it’s too much faff for one person. If I’m cooking for others, I’ll do chicken or beef, sage and onion stuffing, roast and mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings, honey roast carrots, mashed swede, broccoli cheese, cabbage or kale, with loads of thick gravy. Will do some peas too if there’s kids eating.

Now and again for me (today it's leftover bolognese and pasta)

I mostly cook a chicken roast as its much cheaper but my fave is a lamb roast. That's only for special occasions these days.

Agree with a few others it's a faff. I do make one occasionally, either chicken or a ham joint, roasties, homemade yorkshire puddings, carrots, parsnips and broccoli with lots of beef gravy.

I used to, every week.

It's a waste when I am cooking for one.

My best dishes were:

Slow roast lamb in a redcurrant and red wine gravy

Honey and mustard pork cooked in cider

Lemon and tarragon butter chicken.

I will say that I do now batch cook Slow braised oxtail regularly. Its fkn awesome - especially with roast celeriac and veggies.

Ain't it just.😱 Wish I could have the oomph to do this weekly.

We have resorted to paying the carvery man once a month
