You know when one day you think to yourself "I'm not sure this is still me" but you've carried it on out of habit.
Clothes, hairstyles, hobbies, people or your ability to stay out until 4am and still make it into work.
I've been considering retiring my tounge piercing. Younger me would be horrified at the idea. Current me is mainly worried about accidentally swallowing it with a cup of tea.

"My eyebrows. I clung on to the younger me brows, but i have now gone to a normal wax and tint. Realised im too old for the thick block shaped ones now they are too harsh for my face 🫣"

I wish I could do this but I wasn't blessed in the brow department. I will be drawing them on until i'm on my death bed 🤣 |

I feel like I've retired playing recreational sports. I used to play cricket, football, and table tennis but I just focus on gym work and worry the sports will just make me more fatigued for the gym which is a shame as I really enjoyed it. |

I’ve retired a few things.
Drinking to get d*unk. I still like the occasional drink but that’s for pleasure.
Running. After running ultras I just haven’t got the time or motivation to run 80+ miles a week.
I still need to work on retiring spending money frivolously 😂 |

Football, I was a season ticket holder for about 15/20 years, then one day I was like “ fuck this shit, I’m stressing myself out for no reason at all, while paying to do so”.
Nowadays I couldn’t name one player or tell you who the manager is, I’m never stressed/gutted on a Saturday afternoon, life is bliss.

🤣 Wise choice, have you seen the fastest Indian? Love that movie
Great film. Id watch anything with Anthony Hopkins in"
His New Zealand accent is a bit dodgy, but it's a great film. Agreed he's a legend |

"I've retired my sex life
I've gone the opposite with piercings and got more as I've got older
Same! I stopped giving a fuck what people thought about my tattoos and piercings with age "
I wanted my nose done and I thought I was too old and thought fuck it! Considering a nipple next. Just the one mind. And a tattoo full length of my forearm.
Growing old disgracefully!

That makes me sad, Joe. You know I love the gym too, but there's room for both! And so much the social side with sports too. I'll take up walking football once the running is beyond me! 🤣
This post wasn't meant to make you feel bad, but don't stop playing sports for the gym's sake.

Oh always time for table tennis, I'll give you a game should you ever be in Bristol. I always have a set in my rucksack 👍 |

I’ve had mine for 30 years now. I forget it’s there. It surprises me when someone mentions it.
I’ve retired my brain, or should I say, it’s retired itself. Since menopause it’s totally gone out of left field. |

Retired my enthusiasm for various physical activities such as mountain biking, impromptu games of rugby etc. Not through choice, more that being on Warfarin I don't fancy giving myself internal bleeding if I get a hard knock! Thankfully shagging isn't prohibited |

Another for recreational sports. I don't have the time anymore. I do love the social aspect of it too. I mostly see people at weddings, funerals or a match of some kind. Everyone is so busy these days. Or maybe that's what life is like as an adult?
I prefer the gym. Recovery after football is different now. I used to play 4 days a week and gym 4 days a week. I can't dedicate that kind of time to it now. |

Mine healed so quick but I was sick of them catching on everything. They got caught on my husbands watch while we were having sex. Life flashed before my eyes. I took them out immediately afterwards |

Mine took ages due to the constant tweaking but yes, in essence it’s the same point! |

I used to wear eyeshadow everyday but that's been retired and only used for evenings out. I have also retired lipstick, I now much prefer a neutral gloss.
I've retired styling my hair everyday, in favour of a messy up do most days. I now enjoy making an effort when we go out.
By making minor changes to my beauty routine I have embraced a more natural makeup & hair look during the day, which means a little extra time in bed.

I gave up drinking 6 years ago. I wasn't an alcoholic or anything, more my body just said I'm not going to support your social life anymore.
Do I miss it? Not at all.
Am I healthier for it? Not at all 🤣 |

"Retired my football boots and roller blades a couple of months ago, it was heartbreaking to do, but I’ve since replaced them with a snowboard, so not all bad 😂"
So we've replaced normal sports with extreme ones? Got it! 😅 |

Yeah, I've been nostalgic for playing 5 a side and cricket again. I can't do cricket with the training and matches taking all day and I guess I don't like the idea of playing football and not lifting as much as I could if I was doing legs 😅 |

You never lose your thighs once you get them. Every day is leg day. Finding trousers that fit is a problem. |

Yeah, I get that. Can only go on my experience, but my squat hasn't been affected by a weekly game of 5-a-side! I still manage to squat twice a week and do alright, but I'm the opposite as I'd miss football too much. |
