At the grand age of 64 ive just been diagnosed with chronic Asthma

I've been intelligent for awhile, first with artilfibrilation, then fluid on my lungs,I'm still very breathlessness it can be a chore just walking a very short distance without breathing very hard, and lying flat in bed is impossible

So I'm asking does anyone suffer with this? I'm waiting on being prescribed a steroid inhaler I'm really hoping this will help

I don't, thankfully. I hope you get the medication and help you need to alleviate your pain. I have friends and family members who have this. 👍🏾😊

I sympathise. I've just been diagnosed with asthma, doesn't sound as serious as yours though.

Have an inhaler which helps, they're now looking into what triggers it

I'm curious as to why you have to wait to be prescribed a steriod inhaler ?

I have asthma and changed to symbicort last year, definitely helped me more with this one. You may need to try a few different ones to find the one that helps you most... all the best

I am from a family of asthmatics, and I was diagnosed with adult onset asthma in my late twenties.

I currently have a salbutamol inhaler for chronic attacks (which are very rare these days), and a prophylactic inhaler called Seretide, which you use twice a day, and is used to manage asthma and COPD. It combines two medications: fluticasone (a corticosteroid] and salmeterol (a long-acting bronchodilator).

I live a perfectly normal life, and if you're prescribed the appropriate medications, you should be absolutely fine.
