TFI Friday is on the TV! When did that happen?
I'll reserve judgement.
But what else from the 90s needs to make a comeback??
(Young people, you can pick something from the 2000s for the sake of inclusion - no need for the "I was 2 in the 90s" posts! 🤣) |

"They need to bring g back spitting image. It would have a field day at the moment.
Didn't that have a comeback recently? X"
Yeah, ridiculing people is pretty much outlawed now. Only right I guess but SI was brilliant in its day. |

"Did Tiswas stop in the 80s? Or did it make it to the start of the 90s?
They had the adult version called OTT , I was never allowed to watch !
"
Google tells me it was 1974-1982, so a little out... 🤣 |

Spending hours just tinkering with Ceefax teletext.
Watching the portable black and white TV on camping trips.
Pretending to be ill just to skip school and snuggle back into bed and watch the morning cartoons. I think many kids got the same idea.
Just the general excitement of getting a video game magazine with a new demo disc and pc games came in boxes with large manuals.
TOTP. A time when the Spice Girls, Aqua, Oasis, Blur, and Ace of Base were stealing the charts.
Watching the latest reviews on TV like Cybernet, GamesMaster, and Movies, Games, and Videos.
Saturday night live game shows, followed by mystic Meg and the lotto numbers by Camelot.
Having a long soak in the bath and listening to long-wave radio Atlantic 252.
Less social media, so less distraction and choice. Millions tuned in to see a show and there was a feeling like it was a national event. Things were not so rushed. Films came out in America months before Britain and penpal letters and postcards were still very popular. Also far less people seemed to go abroad for holidays and the other side of the world felt like a million miles away. Different times.
Although every generation probably looks back with rose-coloured glasses.

Don’t bother… watched two episodes of it…
It’s just a rehash of old TFI segments nothing original or new.
Chris Evans just trying to make himself relevant.
It will appeal to the nostalgia gang. |

I watched. There were some new interviews interspersed with the old ones. But it did feel like it was trying too hard! |

The best thing about TFI Friday was the bands, Britpop was in its pomp.
They brought a CD out. They should do a DVD of all the live performances, the ones on YouTube tend to be crap VHS transfers…

Tab Clear was great, wasn't it!
I was tidying the loft and found a load of my old cassettes including mix tapes made for me by friends - was quite emotional! Going to recreate them as playlists! |

Yes, Bill and Ben was just a bit before the 90s. What's 40 years between friends?! 🤣 |

By 1998 I was 18 and barely saw TFI cos I was out, out. "
I occasionally interact with Gary from the band on social media. Nice fella. |

"SONY™ MiniDisc (MD).
Still can’t understand how this didn’t take over "
Because it’s Sony- they make something great then shut down any possibility of any other company using it in anything with OTT licensing- it was Betamax all over again…then cheap MP3 players arrived and kicked the shit out of it- then the iPod pissed on what was left |

I did. Got carried away by the thrill of the joke. Know you're more a Take Me Out man anyway.
But what a show...made this teenage boy pretty happy too. 🤣

I was recovering from the 80's in the 90's so not my cup of tea. Find Chris Evans an annoying twat.
Politics, we went from one bunch of muppets to another. Charles n Diana nightmare. Lost my Ford Capri.
Ended up back working in an industry I hated. Finally my sister unknowingly married a complete deceitful bastard who looks ans sounds like that twat Chris Evans. Fuck the 90's .
