When it’s just been one of them days and the kids have really stretched you… where do you hide for five minutes peace?

Currently, I’m in the utility, hiding having a chocolate snack before I deal with bath and bedtime…

Kids have flown the nest, we have a spare bedroom or 3. My favourite spot is in front of the dormer window in the loft conversion, plenty of natural light. I sit there for a while, scroll, read or there's a dartboard to chuck arrows at.

Does drying just mean sat on the bed in towels?

Sounds pretty idyllic to me.

I literally just sit in the toilet! Same as skiving from work!

I actually quite like spending time with my kids. If only they wanted to a bit more.

Mine are older enough that I can leave them and sit in the car on the driveway. Podcast on my phone, or pure silence, depending on the mood.

Reading

I'd fucking love it if my children wanted to spend more time with me. Some of my interests are specifically designed so that I get more time with them.

But I know that wasn't your question. I spend a lot of time in my office at home. It has my desk and stuff for when I'm working but also a bunch of bookcases and my reading chair. Nobody comes into this room but me and it's nice to have that space to be myself and to recharge away from others.

I remember those days well!

Now I find that I have that 5 or 10 mins in my car before I go into work or in to the house.

Good one, I do it every morning before I get to work, just to set myself.

Oh the days when you're just tapped out!! Ours are a bit bigger now but the food shop was almost a good excuse to leave the house for the break from them and also alcohol helps 😜
