"Israel 🇮🇱 foe the win 🏆 you ok with genocide are you. And thankfully they lost."
Eurovision is *supposed* to be apolitical. So if individuals prefer a particular song over another, that's OK. It's based on the song, not political affiliations. |

The levels of antisemitism in the UK and in particular Ireland is absolutely shameful. As a guy with Jewish heritage i find it sickening that Europe in general has learnt absolutely nothing and history will repeat itself |

The problem is the previous poster was right… Israel and their national broadcaster last year were warned about the way they tried to get people to vote last year via different types of media …
Just earlier in the week the Israeli national broadcaster was warned again about the way they were using social media to try and influence the public vote
I’m a fan of Eurovision.. but Israel are the ones trying to turn the contest into a statement.. and your last paragraph kinda proves the fact they are succeeding |

See the British empire tried to commit genocide on the Irish people during the famine and we will never forget that and will always be against a country who tries to commit genocide on someone else. |

"No wonder uk came last. Dickhead Sam in pink full of himself. The presenter for uk a 80 year old crossdresser with red wig. What a laugh. The rest of presenters sexy chicks and guys "
It's all part of the BBC's Summer Satanic Agenda. |

Middx/Herts borders-ish or thereabouts ! |
Ohhhh, now that's funny. That is seriously fucking funny.
ONE point ! Cheers Ukraine for the sympathy vote. It takes a unique sort of crapness to finish with a single point. It's more iconic than finishing with none.
A deaf cat with a hearing aid could have pointed out a couple of months ago that the song was complete & utter dog shit. |

"Perhaps this thread should be in the politics section. "
This thread was just meant to carry on from the first one.
I had no intention on bringing politics into it..
Some people though, either can't help themselves. Or just want to spoil the intended spirit.
This was supposed to be about music, and fun.

I really didn't understand our entry. Bit of a weird tune. Was it supposed to be a love letter to Europe so we can be friends again? 😂 |

It really was dreadful. And sung by possibly the most annoying human being I've ever seen on TV. |

Didn't follow it but did see and hear the song that won it and congratulations to them, but it kinda reaffirmed my initial thoughts of not being impressed and kinda glad I didn't waste my time watching and listening to the drama unfold. I was sad to see we Brits came last though with just one point. Not fair...!
Anyways, I feel I dodged a bullet not watching show. Eins, Zwei, Drei Vs Bangaranga, gap really doesn't seem right and makes one think how much of the voting system is actually based on just the music and performance alone...!? |

Despite people saying it's not political I think everyone knows it is. |

Well it looks like my diagnosis in the previous thread of the uk being absolute drivel was correct. I’m just surprised it even got one point.
Personally, I wouldn’t have picked Bulgaria but it wasn’t the worst song on the night. |

Here is the brutal truth…..
Crap songs get crap marks!… period!
Was it THE worst song… probably not
Was it a bad song…. Absolutely!
When we put in good songs we do well… you must have forgotten Sam Ryder a few years ago….
People like to use the political to promote a narrative…. But forget the songs we put in the contest don’t tend to be that objectively good |

Most of the songs we've had were bad, I agree. I do remember Sam Ryder, the only reason he didn't win was because of Ukraine. That was a political victory. Some would say their song was better but we all know it was about sending a message to Russia. And Russia is banned. So there's definitely a political element to it.
Mae Muller had a decent song but she didn't win any votes did she?
Oh no. Why do I know who she is? Am I a Eurovision fan? How do I fix this? 😜 |

I didn't shit on the guy at the time but I couldn't fucking stand that song and it looks like his career fizzled out as soon as it left the Eurovision arena.
Lots of "good songs" go to die at Eurovision, and lots of weird songs (not necessarily bad) do well. |

They thing is we all watch to see how bad or bonkers the songs are well we do. what I do hate as a musician myself that if its a proper band they have to mime due to time BULLSHIT you can have a few kempers with the bands amp profiles into the PA behind the stage plus using wireless packs and there drum kits on a rolling platform miced up then I think you have a extra edge and see proper talent show though. |

Where are you looking ? He's taken the lead role in Jesus Christ Super Star in the West End.
He's released two albums.
He's often on T.V. on shows and in ads.
Eurovision wasn't his career. |

In a that is tries to be attuned to peoples rights, I find it surprising that Bulgaria, a country widely considered to be unsupportive of the LGBTQ+ community, which routinely ranks near the bottom of the European Union nations for Queer rights will be the host of next year's contest. |

Fizzled out?. He is a millionaire, and I imagine will add to that after his stint as Jesus Christ Superstar in the west end. |

That’s cool… I love the contest as well… but in the last couple of years Israel have been trying to use the contest basically the same way the Saudis used sports.. sports washing their reputation
So last year not only did the Israeli national broadcaster send out media trying to campaign to influence the vote but the Israeli government got involved and did it as well…basically a huge no no!
Which is why the public voting rules were changed this year, and the Israeli delegation were severely warned not to do it again
This year the Israeli national broadcaster started doing the same thing… it was only earlier in the week when Eurovision finally said enough was enough and threatened to kick them out of the contest that they finally backed off! But it was a huge reason as to why Israel won “the public vote” by a lot! |
