I find it a very mixed bag.
You'll get a load of messages. Some from people in different countries. Many asking if you can meet another night, or send you lurid scenarios that bear no resemblance to anything on your profile.
You'll get tons of messages from people without any pics who think that having a pulse is enough to tick your boxes.
It's a guarantee that there will be at least 3 folk who send you reasonable messages and then go offline for the next 2 hours leaving you unsure whether to wait for their reply or just look elsewhere.
Eventually, if you're very lucky, you'll find someone sane with whom you're compatible. Then when you get to theirs, you'll notice all of the wedding pics on the wall and you'll twig the bounder isn't single and it's time to leave. |

Yes.
But we do it well in advance to give us time to chat and have a F2F social before any shenanigans.
Unless it's a club meet in which case we'll just see them there and if they turn out to be 'not for us' it's all good, as odds are we'll find someone else there or we'll bump into existing friends. |

Yes to give a heads up to people as I always get meet now then blocked when I can't. Let them know when I'm available and suddenly not a single profile shows any interest in me until after it expires where they send meet now |

Yes. No. Well, sort of.
In almost five years I've only posted a 'meet' about four times, and this was for a Fab social 'heads up' (in Manchester and London), or for when I was travelling for work and posted something for a coffee meet with a forum dweller within the vicinity.
I had one response from a woman who found me whilst she was perusing the meets section. It was one of the loveliest messages ever.
On the whole it's not really a feature I use or exploit. Perhaps I should... |

I use it when I’m travelling about. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t. Like most things on Fab I suppose.
I’ve never had any luck with it in Birmingham, for some reason. Whenever I’ve posted a meet there I’ve only had replies from women wanting to meet on different days or in different cities entirely. Can someone from Birmingham tell me what that’s all about? |

I once accidentally clicked on the 'add me to meet today' thing and was very confused when I immediately got 45 really gross or pointless messages. I was semi-scarred by it. Wouldn't do it again in a hurry. |

"Nope. What if someone actually wants to meet me? That's frightening."
I wouldn't worry, it's a guaranteed method of getting zero interactions even if you've had lots of messages before posting a meet |
