Just wondering...married/ co habiting couples...

Do ye kiss regular?

Smile when see each other?

Both do oral ?

Who instigates sex?

Did / does being parents make ye hold back or curtail the sex life.

Just trying to gage if how my marriage has deteriorated sexually is normal....

We’ve been through dry spells. 8 months I think was our longest but Mr may correct me. We’ve been together nearly 14 years though and there’s so much more to a marriage than sex. Whether the amount of sex currently is lacking could be due to hormones (yours or hers), mental health, mental load or miscommunication about how often it happens and what needs to be in place before it does - can only be answered with an honest conversation with you wife and a decision on whether changes need to be made.

Had our dry spells, up to to and longer than 12 months at times (been together 19 years), was a combination of working opposite shifts, young kids and antidepressants killing off the libido in the Mrs case, all good now, as always communication is the key, if you’re not talking you’re not sorting, you know?

Dry spells were more common when the kids were drawing on us. I did stray a few times to be honest (one-nighters, not a full blown affair). Empty nest time was fantastic, it was like dating again. Then one came home for a year or so...then went again.

Absolutely love it now, I adore my wife and I let her know it. I do wonder sometimes when people mainly men) come on here and complain about sexless marriages, whether they're really making the effort themselves.
