Run the dad’s race for sports day?!? I’ve said no but I kinda have had a few drinks and feel I could kick ass even though I do no exercise! Do you do the parents race at sports day? How good are you!?! Should I embarrass myself for my beautiful children!?!

Besides, maybe they’ll see you and think ‘if I run like dad I’ll never outrun the fuzz, I’ll abandon any ideas of a life of crime and focus on my chemistry exam’

I think you should do it. It's brilliant fun, goofy and chuckle factor all round. Do what I did: I ran holding a plastic cup filled with Pimm's™. It spilt everywhere and I just pretended that I was doing a mad rush to bar tent. 🍹🍸

In my opinion, no you shouldn’t. I would also suggest reading a thread helps engage better with the people in it.

"Starting a,thread is no guarantee that it will go your way!!!"

Well that depends on what you classify as “your way”. If it means people will post (or give) random answers to a thread topic (or general question) which had no relevance to the question, then I think I would have to ask you if you think that’s acceptable behaviour on your life?

Take no notice, the guy has posted on more than one thread. He should start his own. I still think you should partake in the dads race

I'd say just do it. Run it. Win or loss it will be fun. You might win you might not. But as already said it's for the kids.

My kid's school doesn't do a parents race, which is disappointing because I think I'd do pretty well despite being one of the older dads

You should go for it and take part, it can be a good laugh and doesn't matter if you come first, middle or last as they will remember you just taking part.

I've taken part when my daughter was at school and she remembers that x

Is that it then? All we get? Ffs

Tell us about your darkest moment in the race, how you felt you couldn’t go on but dug deep to find resolve, how you looked into the crowd and found inspiration to persevere. How others stumbled but you couldn’t save them and how it haunts you. We weren’t there man and w need to be told that.

That sorta thing.

Cheers.

Ok I’m looking back at multiple videos posted on the dad’s clubs. Still reviewing but I think I was sabotaged! Some dude was pushed. He fell. I remember seeing arse in air… avoid! Said arse got back up and staggered into my runway. I had to sidestep and ended up in the lane of another dad. He gave me a poke in the back. I swung with a back slap while still focusing on not falling. I finished the race. Eldest said I was amazing but didn’t appreciate the back poking. Youngest just commented I was slow. All in all, yes I will do next year! 😂😂

Unless it's 1st then kids probably won't care or remember exactly where you place.

They remember that you showed up and joined in.

They remember that you were a good sport.

They'll remember your effort.
