Id like to go Minnesota again in the autumn "
USA is so big that each state is like a country of its own. Wasn’t a fan of New York but Boston was amazing. As is New Orleans (pre Katrina). Texas is something else too. All so different |

Florida. Loved other parts of America but Florida never interested me.
China. No interest at all, although my mum has been.

Can’t think of even one place on this planet that I wouldn’t love to see and experience… Been a fair few places, and love travel and adventure…life is all about experiences and being there, in person.
All I will say though, is that there are many places that are overrated. |

I made the mistake of going to Turkey a few years ago. It was worst holiday destination ever. The concept of honesty is non-existent in the shops and they’ll do anything to rip you off. |

Not been there either! It seemed a bit too sophisticated for the likes of me (I blame Miami Vice for that line of thought! ) but I loved San Francisco and New York.
Las Vegas was a bit meh too as you see it in the films and it looks glamorous but the carpets etc are like the ones you’d find in a Bingo hall in Blackpool. Same with Hollywood, it was a right dive, was bitterly dissapointed. |

"I watched a series where Joanna Lumley travelled across India and what a fascinating country it is! I’d love to do that. Trip of a lifetime "
India is amazing, I think a lot of people dismiss it or are worried about going but it really is rewarding to visit.
Loved Goa, Amritsar and Jaisalmer was really cool and I'd love to do Kerala one day. |

Yeah i went on a day trip and hated it. Hated the aggressive selling. I prefer to be allowed to look. Wouldnt go back for free.
Tunisia was even worse. |

Never had any interest in Eastern European countries but had the chance to go to Bulgaria last year.
Only had a day in Sofia but there was nothing special about it at all.
The rest of the trip was in the arse end of nowhere where there was a mix of people, some who were incredibly welcoming and lovely and others who had never gotten over the breakup of the Soviet Union.
The scenery was just ok but the historical experience in the Death Zone and seeing all the old Soviet vehicles abandoned in weird places was amazing. |

USA. My parents moved to Florida years ago and keep inviting me over, but I have no desire to go. Scenic landscapes are one appeal, but it's the people and their religious and political cult-ure which make it so unappealing to many. Even at school over 30 years ago I remember our teacher asked the class which country they would not want to move to and the majority said USA. I think that was mainly due to the popularity of shows like Jerry Springer which gave us the impression they were all nuts. |

I've been to the USA a few times (my wife's American) but not since the orange idiot took over.
The even very remote possibility of some ICE jobsworth finding something wrong with my visa and me getting banged up for no reason for weeks and ballsing my job and life up is sufficient for me not to countenance going again until the adults are back in charge. |

Israel. I’m not religious & there is always the feeling the region could kick off at any time.
Dubai. Superficial BS overseen by authoritarianism.
Egypt. Pyramids look good but I’ve heard bad stories that it’s like Morocco on steroids & I’ve been to Morocco.
South America. Again, the likes of Rio de Janeiro
& Machu Picchu look worth a visit but on the other hand the whole continent seems dodgy as feck. |

Any of the UAE area. Just totally manufactured.
Never fancied India. Heard too many horror stories. Beautiful spots but turn around and there are people dying of dysentry.
Florida
Caribbean. Too americanised for my liking.
Never going back to Tenerife |

Anywhere full of pissed up brits, lads/girls on tour, party venue full of loutish morons.
So that's pretty much everywhere.
Also not a place as such but a cruise NO THANKS.
Nice peaceful cabin in the wilderness far away from the maddening crowd. |

"Anywhere where the locals are skint.. I hate the sight of tourists lording it up wearing a shirt that costs more than a locals monthly salary... "
It sucks that there's so much inequality and poverty but the counter argument is that tourist money helps local businesses and local people.
Which is why I think tourists should spend their money in local businesses rather than simply going all inclusive. And yes, tipping is good.

Lake Louise is very beautiful, I was a bit meh about going to Canada but ended up loving it- the scenery is stunning and the people are so nice.
Plus Nova Scotia is only about a 5hr flight from London. |

No interest in places that have risk of illness, injury, incarceration or natural disaster or require extensive vaccines. I'm not looking to become patient zero of anything.
No interest in spending my coins and subsidising any country with a regime that goes against basic 'good human' ways of life. |

Also India. My Indian family have always been pretty disparaging about it. However, when I lived overseas it was a cheap, quick flight away so thought I might as well give it a go to prove to myself I was right about it.
I went to Kerala and travelled about. Had a great time. |

Thailand is amazing. The land of the smiles. They are the happiest, friendliest people I have ever encountered. I'd go back any time. They restored my hope and trust in people |

I’m genuinely surprised by some of the comments about Turkey. It is a beautiful country, but unfortunately its reputation gets dragged down by some taxi-driver scammers, rip-off shopkeepers, and pathetic, desperate assholes who think every female tourist wants to sleep with them. They harass women, act like complete creeps, and make visitors uncomfortable. These morons are doing far more harm to the country’s image than any bad review ever could. |

Why are you surprised when youve just listed a number of reasons to avoid turkey?
Then youve the backwards religious wankers running it. |

The issues I mentioned are valid criticisms, but they don’t erase everything else the country has to offer. Judging an entire nation based on its worst aspects is a pretty narrow way of looking at things.

Never had the slightest interest in going to Australia. The culture and childish lingo puts me off more than the place.
Been all over New Zealand twice. Fantastic and seriously unique place. The people not as brash and 'sport'y as I perceive Australians to be, but why on earth do they call themselves Kiwis and not New Zealanders which is a term I far prefer.. it is a bit of a dumbo bird to want to be associated with, to say the least! |

"Anywhere where the locals are skint.. I hate the sight of tourists lording it up wearing a shirt that costs more than a locals monthly salary... "
My memory of India was that no matter where I went the local men, rich or poor, usually wore smarter shirts than I did.
Hardly anyone wore T shirts, mostly smart long sleeved and cuffed white shirts ironed daily. |

Vancouver is far too civilised and attractive to qualify as a city. Arguably the best city in the world.
Followed by Auckland and the other 'cities' in New Zealand. |

I never fancied any of the the Arabian gulf states, until I saw footage of diving amd bouldering in Oman.
That's on my list.
USA, would go with the current administration and cost, but one day, I'd love to see the California redwoods (and recreate scenes from The Lost World), visit monterray bay, visit the Oregon for the mountains and coadtal trail. |
