Anything less than 50p goes in a jar - which usually ends up being donated to a local charity
50p, £1 & £2 coins go in a little money pouch and are only really used for paying for parking or getting a supermarket trolley |

I usually have a few coins for trolleys if I'm doing a big shop. Most of my spare change goes to charity. Local shops, volunteers, collections etc. On the odd occasion, someone homeless. I don't normally carry cash. |

"What do you do with your spare change?"
a massive glass wine bottle, all goes in there. then eventually i take it to the bank where they have a coin sorting machine that you just pour all the coins into it. it will then count it and give you a voucher. i then spend the cash on something |

"The government is doing away with the one cent coin, so I have a lot, in my pickup it's all pennies "
I am not sure that is true, is it. They are not bringing new ones in circulation but apparently still over 27 billion coins out there. I pay lots in cash wherever possible and have even withdrawn my custom in places that do not accept cash. The choice to use cash or not is important and I certainly will not want to see that go. Some elderly people don't even have a bank account. It is not just about us who can happily just use our phones and the rest |

I use card and cash. Cash for smaller purchases, markets, small shops. Card for supermarket or bigger purchases for the protection you get with your bank. I don't have spare change because I spend it. |
