Did you names your kids after a family member,or chose a different name entirely

I named my eldest son after his Dad,but chose different names for my other 3

Completely different, though they do share middle names with family members.

Some of my family have been using the same name for generations. It just gets silly when they're all in the same room 🙄

We named our first after my Nan with a family middle name and then went completely the other way with the second and just picked names we liked xx 😄

My kids got 23 names, none of which are named after a family member but I did give her one thats a David Lynch film.

My middle name is my Dad's first name.

My dad's middle name is my granddad's first name.

I'm not sure if it went back further than that.

No my grandmother gave her 5 children the worst names. Boy or girl i wasn't going to continue those. It doesn't matter anyway, my girl makes up names for herself when people ask anyway.

I named my youngest son after my dad as my dad died young, turns out I never knew any off my grandads and found out last year I was named after him as he died young.
