Type 1 here
It's a nightmare. Feel sicky all day, drinking loads of water which means I'm constantly on the loo
Body feels like it's overheating and I'm doing a lot more insulin correction doses than usual. |

I’m exactly the same. I’ve drank so much water I feel sick but I’m so hot. It’s awful isn’t it? |

I've been soaking a t-shirt in cold water, rinsing it and wearing it to try and cool down.
It's the humidity this time that's horrible. |

Yeah another suffer hear, I find once I get to a certain temperature inside just can't cool no matter what I try.
Work thinks I'm making it up,so they gave me a job at 4pm to get into a loft to inspect a suspected hole in the roof ! |

Drinking lots
Drinking a rehydration sachet a day is also helping, it’s helping stop the light headed dizziness.
Sugars running higher, normal heat response for me and resistance is being stubborn. Using sick day rules with my pump for a higher basal rate
No ketones thankfully
Lots of cool showers and staying indoors where I can |

Peaks and troughs, struggle with general temperature regulation in my body so sucking on ice cubes, lots of ice pops/ice cream
Ice packs on wrist, cold showers
Avoiding Appollo where possible but my workplace is cooler than home 🤷♂️ |

I am type 2, diagnosed last August. No clue about my sugars as I don't test, apart from my annual diabetes check- it was a huge shock to me, not being asked to test regularly. I do have a little bit of a headache but that's not unexpected, in this heat. Otherwise, it's business as usual. |

I didn’t realise it can affect it? I have the Type 2 and off all meds at the minute as the metformin combined with having no large intestine was making life a misery with the stomach troubles have telephone appointment tomorrow to see what to try next noticed this week that don’t tolerate the heat as well as used too but thought that was just the fact most of June had been so cool then hot weather coming around quick not giving our bodies time to adapt |

Type 2 here. I don't know how it's effecting it as I don't monitor at home, just quarterly bloody tests at the drs. Just being sensible and doing what I would normally do regardless, which is drink more water. |

I'm type 2 and it's been very uncomfortable the last few days, 2 fans going most of the day. Drinking loads of water but not peeing that much as i'm sweating so much all the time and sugars have been a bit higher but not worryingly high. Had a cold bath last night and that helped a lot but once i got out it was back to sweating. |

Type 1 since '89. Sugars will spike & fall due to loss of appetite etc in this heat, best thing I ever had was to get those libra lifestyle sensors on prescription. Real time glucose readings to your phone without the drama of finger pricking. I find it can micro-manage so much easier. |

Type 1 here - mine have not been too bad, I normally cycle every day but this week I have not been able too due to the heat. So the lack of cycling has helped to mess them up along with the heat. The heat is just another annoying variable |

I still do finger pricks.
I've been offered libra a few times but I've always been put off by the thought of having something attached to my arm. I think it would annoy me. (I don't wear a watch because they annoy me)
Is it worth getting? |

It scans to your phone or a watch, I use a phone. It has been the biggest advance in diabetic control I've seen in 37yrs. Id encourage anyone to try them. |

Help...
How did you test for Diabetes?
I asked my doctor but they said they tested 2 years ago and I was okay.
2 years ago isn't today?
Is there anyplace I can get tested apart from my GP who won't do the test |

Go private? Although I would have thought you'd be entitled to one at your GPs after 2 years! |

That doctors an idiot it took me less than 2 years for 1ac to go from normsl to 106.
Csnt you request a different doctor
Failing that buy or borrow one of those finger prick testers and test morning fasting blood sugar yourself |

Many pharmacies will offer a free finger prick test, if it’s raised then you can book to see your gp again |

I refuse to wear jewellery as I find it irritating. I don’t notice my sensors at all once they’re on |

Thanks for the reply.
I have heard good things about them and the data they can supply.
I might give it a go |

It'll probably annoy me at first, but I suppose I'd get used to it after a while |

A started on the Libra but it kept giving her false reasoned when she lay on it in bed. Swapped to the dexcom+ because it can go on her stomach and hasn’t looked back |

I use Libre, it certainly changed my life. I’ve been diabetic 45 years so have gone from testing urine, to finger pricks and now just checking my phone. It’s bloomin great ! You don’t even realise it’s on your arm, unless you’re clumsy like me and walk in to door frames etc and knock the flipping thing off. But Freestyle are really good and replace them for you. |

Ask your pharmacy, they should be able to do it for you. |
