I struggle with 'effect and affect'
It's been explained to me before and I still don't get it.
I don't mind bad grammar as long as I can get the idea of what they are trying to say. I do hate text speak. |

I'm terrible, always thought that "you are" was "you're" until I started reading fab forums.
Fabbers, I thank you. Your the ones who have put me on the right path. |

Just A Stranger In A Strange Land. |
I do numbers, not so much words, so my spelling is pretty awful at times, I particularly struggle with words beginning de/di, describe/discribe, and so on. Bizarrely my grammar is pretty decent though and I do know the difference between their/there/they're. |

Affect starts with an 'A' it's an action word
Effect is the result of something |

I’m barely literate, I can just about read, I rely on autocorrect for spelling and grammar is like a foreign language to me.
I had a poor education, and was going through some stuff in my childhood, so I was away from school for months at a time.
Now I just don’t care, if you get a buzz from correcting my your/you're mistakes fair play to you, enjoy your self, but remember I’m happy and winning in life despite the setbacks, and yeah that is a large chip on my shoulder. |

And yet there you go with an articulate post that is correct and makes sense. |

Admin is life so I'm good with grammar and spelling.
However, 9 times out 10 when I type below I have actually typed elbow and the amount of errors that stem from having midget digit sausage fingers keying on my mobile is frankly, quite shocking!! |

I used to have good spelling and grammar.
Fibro fog has taken away my big words-including knowing their meanings-and also correct grammar.
You're lucky to get a comma in a sentence out of me now; let alone a semicolon. |

Mine wasn’t exactly terrible but it is a lot better thanks to auto correct they were bad more so due to rushing and not checking rather than being borderline illiterate.
I’m not an English teacher so don’t care and won’t be making any effort to improve ha |

"I have to confess to Googling words to be sure I'm typing the correct one.
My conversation skills have also plummeted."
Haha I do that when I can’t get the start of the word close enough for it to come up on the auto suggest |

I don't know how many times I've looked up the difference between discrete and discreet, but I still can't remember which is which. Proper mental block.
Anyone got a clever trick for remembering? |

I'm good at spelling and grammar. However, sometimes my brain stops working or I'm too tired so I make mistakes like a human being. I do find text speak and slang exhausting. Speak properly or get me a translator/subtitles. |

In a galaxy far far away |
Rindercella and her sugly isters lived in a marge lansion. Rindercella worked very hard frubbing sloors, emptying poss pits, and shivelling shot.
At the end of the day, she was knucking fackered.
The sugly isters were right bugly astards. One was called Mary Hinge and the other was called Betty Swallocks. They were really forrible huckers and they had fetty sweet and fatty swannies.
The sugly isters had tickets to go to the ball, but the cotton runts would not let Rindercella go.
Suddenly there was a bucking fang and her gairy fodmother appeared. Her name was Shairy Hithole and she was a light rucking fesbian.
She turned a pumpkin and six mite wice into a hucking cuge farriage with six dandy ronkeys who had buge hollocks and dig bicks.
The gairy fodmother told Rindercella to be back by dimnlight, otherwise there would be a cucking falamity.
At the ball, Rindercella was dancing with the prandsome hince when suddenly the clock struck twelve.
“Mist all chucking frighty!!!” said Rindercella and she ran out, tripping barse over ollocks, so dropping her slass glipper.
The very next day, the prandsome hince knocked on Rindercella’s door and the sugly isters let him in.
Suddenly, Betty Swallocks lifted her leg and let off a fig bart.
“Who’s fust jarted?” asked the prandsome hince.
“Blame that fugly ucker over there!!” said Mary Hinge.
When the stinking brown cloud had lifted, he tried the slass glipper on both the sugly isters without success and their feet stucking funk.
Betty Swallocks was ducking fisgusted and gave the prandsome hince a knack in the kickers.
This was not difficult as he had bucking fuge halls and a hig bard on.
He tried the slass glipper on Rindercella and it fitted pucking ferfectly.
Rindercella and the prandsome hince were married.
The pransome hince lived his life in lucking fuxury and Rindercella lived hers with a follen swanny |

I'm very good at spelling and grammar.
It's normally the fact that my brain is moving quicker than my fingers can type and I miss entire words in a simple sentence haha.
That's what I like to tell myself anyway |

I'm really good at spelling and grammar for the most part, I think. The problem with typing is that sometimes, my brain is too fast for my fingers so I don't half make some dumb mistakes.
If others' isn't so great, then I don't hold it against them as it could be for any number of reasons. |

"I worry for the next generation with spelling and grammar.
It's all "like", and every sentence from my two boys ends with "ennit"
Where's this all come from?!!"
The new dictionary will be unreadable to us 🤣 |
