Chariots of Fire is the only race play I know (it opened in 2012 to coincide with the London Olympics).
OP if you are interested in the only race play I know of, you will be pleased to hear that there is a major new production scheduled for:
Theatre Royal Windsor, Windsor
2–12 Sep 2026
and
King's Theatre, Edinburgh
15–19 Sep 2026 |

I've done it for a partner who was into it. I had to view it as a roleplay thing. I'm just acting. Once it was done, there was lots of care and reassurance. Definitely discuss what you want to hear/say and what you don't. Communication is key. |

Nope
It's a huge turn off when people trade off their race or skin colour or assume that I am meeting them because of either
If I find you physically attractive, I find you attractive - the equation is no more complicated than that |

Race play is fetish that takes the form of roleplay. It centres on race, racism, and racial inequality.
Race play commonly involves the use of racial slurs, degrading stereotypes, and the deliberate reinforcement or enactment of racist power dynamics for sexual arousal
While participants may consent to it, the themes themselves are rooted in racism and it’s why it can be deeply distressing, offensive, and considered harmful to many people.
I’m afraid it’s in the “Absolute-Fucking-lutely NOT” bin for me. |

As much as I love bullying a ginger I'm not sure it entirely counts 💜 |

Thanks.
I did look it up but glad you posted an explanation for everyone.
It's not about fancying someone but about using harmful stereotypes. |

Exactly that
It’s not about being attracted to someone of a certain race, it’s all about power play and using harmful racial stereotypes |

I will repeat something I said on a previous thread on this topic.
"Although it is not for me,the thing about "non-hedonist kink" is that it exists in the taboo socially unacceptable area.
The problem is the increase in vanilla/ hedonist people claiming they are kinky and fetishists but who only play in the safe and acceptable Ann Summers depiction of kink, such as light sensation and play for arousal.
For me, the point about kink/fetish is that it is an innate, it is also taboo and socially unacceptable and not just a pose for sex.
There is nuance to the comment on racial slurs that should be added. In fetish terms, *raceplay* refers to: A consensual activity (which may involve sex) in which participants take on racially defined roles that may involve language, imagery, or dynamics rooted in race-based social or historical power structures.
So, it can be just dynamics without language.
I would mention raceplay works both ways, it is not just white master/ mistress and POC inferior, there are the black masters/ mistresses and white inferiors.
I feel that provided there is genuine consent between those involved (including people in the vicinity) and no lasting harm is caused and it is handled sensitively, consenting adults should do what consenting adults want to do."
I would add like most kinks/fetishes on the societal cultural taboo list, there is the thought that a person who likes these kinks is unbalanced or is an unacceptable person. But the same used to be said of people who enjoy hard core horror e.g 'Saw' and such like, or violent computer game. Even gay people were deemed unfit and parts of the word still think this.
We live in age where previously it was the religious and conservative minded as "do gooders" tried to prescribe our thoughts and fantasies and how adults spend their playtime. Unfortunately, we know have the liberal alternative community (towards which I would naturally gravitate) trying to prescribe our thoughts and fantasies and adult playtime. |
