Should harry kane get a knighthood......

From the land of haribos.

If england wins the world cup?

I dont see why not, he have been playing with the team for over a decade, he have been very consistently delivering goals and leading by example and showned great leadership, not just that his records speaks for itself.

There have been lots of memorable performances, like how he sometimes score at almost at the end of the match to secure englands win to go through, he is currently leading the team to the finals in the world cup with just 2 more ganes to play,, there just is something about him.

So, if he helps england to win the world cup I dont see why not he would be denied the privilege of it.

It would be interesting to see what your view of it is and if he should get it if england wins the world cup too

No, not yet it’s a team game, so any honours handed out as a result of this World Cup should be at the team level.

After he retires and has a whole career to be reflected, probably yes.

And...it's all about the next game. The final and nothing else exists yet.

The nation needs to be in on this. We've acted in a very entitled way in the past but I feel we're getting better.

I like Pickford. He's not the best we've ever had but he's nuts and a great character, sometimes you need that.

I though Knighthoods were only given out to ageing actors.

It is well known that when Arthur went to fight some marauding dragons he called up his best Camelot thespians and they defeated the dragons with a stirring rendition of My Fair Lady.

I'd rather it ho to someone like Kane instead of some rich toff non of us have heard of but because they happen to have gone to the right private school...

At least the common working person can feel represented by a sports personality.

What other things does he do in life to deserve it

Hate when the odd player get knighted from a winning team

Teams win tounaments not just individual players what other things apart from that has he done or or is he doing to help people

Are knighs not meant to be honourable men who defend the weak from harm and injustice

I use kev sinfield as an example he was legendary winning multiple superleagues but it wasnt until he did something extraordinary specifically for his dying friend and now a whole group of dying people did he deserve it

That is what a knight is not someone whos just good at what hes paid a lot of money to be good at

Some prefer to keep their charitable acts private for a multitude of reasons.

No. Booby Moore never got one and he delivered on the major stage.

Much as I admire Harry Kane, please show me one major game for England where he turned up and changed the game in our favour. Look at his record and performances from quarter finals onwards.

I only believe they should be given to remarkable people, like Kevin Sinfield, who've done so much for Mnd and charity.

Not just for doing the job you are paid for really.

I think Kane should be given a hereditary peerage, perhaps bestowed with a rank of Baron.

Similarly Bellingham should be made a Viscount, slightly higher in nobility.

As long as they both don't outrank me then it's all good. ⚜️

No, he shouldn't...he's doing his job that he gets paid handsomely for... It's a game kicking a bag of air....unlike the people in the armed forces who literally put their life on the line for their job. I'm an avid football fan but rate much more worthy causes to justify a knighthood!🤔

Too many awards given to too many people for trivial matters.

If you want to reward success then you have to punish failure. So win the World Cup and get a knighthood - lose the World Cup and what? Be exiled? Face forty lashes?

They get paid enough for their job plus all the additional on benefits so leave it at that.

I didn't get one (or any other accolades) for doing my job so, no he shouldn't. A specialist surgeon saved my wife's eyesight in an emergency operation. He and his team came to work on new year's day to perform the surgery. None of them received recognition other than from my wife and myself for the miracle they performed that day. HK is good at his job and enjoys a good living from it but, football is just a game.

I started reading some of the initial responses. What utter rubbish. A knighthood for doing fucking what exactly, pardon my Spanish.

You may as well make all the womens team that won the Euros a dame.

In fact give Tuchel a knighthood whilst you're at it.

Not sure about the knighthood. But he is a class act.

But I find it funny that the same people saying its a team game are the same ones who blame him when something goes wrong, like its all his fault.

It can't be both. Either its a team game and 15 people decide each match. Or its all on Kane and he might as well play on his own because he does everything.

Just does my head in with the duality of fans sometimes. If he had never played for Tottenham, he would be lauded but for some weird reason all his achievements have been lessened because he played for Spurs.

No one is ever going to beat his england goals record. When he retires we have no one even close to get goals. Jude wont get as many without Harry there.

He is our best 9. But he's also our best 10,8, and 6. Best crosser, best at short passes. Best decision maker and at times because our defence wanders he's our best defender too.

There is no other player like him.

But some of you will blame him solely for if the game goes bad and forget you ever mentioned its a team game... conveniently.

Also, because his charity work is largely private you think he does none? The Harry Kane foundation is all about mental health. The brands he works with all have to agree to support the foundation and mental health, so skechers and Starbucks all doing more because of him. Works to promote mental health in schools with resilience and with veterans with new skills.

But sure. He does nothing

Actually yes give the man a knighthood. He deserves it.

Definitely not. He's just doing his job which he is getting extortionate amounts of money for.

There are much more deserving people such as RNLI volunteers, for one example.
