Non consensual posts disappearing

I was reading a thread and two posts had been quoted which appeared to be single men offering up wife pics. The quote posts were querying consent but the original posts were not there (and no 'removed by poster' message). Is this another new thing? If so it's another step in the right direction.

Is this the 'Enjoy my wifes' comment on the thread? I couldn't see who wrote that either. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, there was another one on the same thread. Definitely not complaining if Fab are doing something about these posts but it seemed weird

There has been a lot of discussion recently about consent or lack of and threads and comments are being reported.

I recently reported one thread that had 70 comments up to that point from people happy to share pics and stories of wives and partners who aren't on fab.

I couldn't believe that there wasn't a single comment about lack of consent until I said something.

I’m hoping it means that admin/mods are taking them down

Fab shouldn’t be seen to be encouraging anything that could be construed as non consensual

I don’t think this is new. I’ve seen it happen on the odd occasion over the years on threads

I do think it’s definitely needed

My issue with all this Is the admins not removing any of these sort of ppl, we're not able to name em, they can't detect when they're rejoining fab and we keep having to report. It's annoying

I wonder if the posts were reported or just spotted. If there's something we can do to help remove them (apart from just calling them out because a lot of us do that already) then that would be useful information.

"I know for a fact that there's a guy posing as a couple and using his wife's photos without consent. I've reported it but it's still there. And I think people who leave fake veris for scum bags like this need a permanent ban! "

Yeah, they need to take these things seriously, and there needs to be a way to stop people just rejoining. Better verification and making it a requirement.

I think this is brilliant! No one should be sharing pics of anyone but themselves as there is actually no way to prove that they have been given consent to do so.

I suppose it's a bit like ing your garden, it's a ongoing and thankless task and you hope that you've weakened it into submission but wait and see what happens if you stop.

Keep at it Admin

Titz Towers, North Notts

This is a fantastic move in the right direction.

Also, on a side note, is anyone else ever surprised at just how many 'single' guys out themselves in threads like that through mentioning a partner?

It's always been the case that we remove threads offering to share 'wife' pics. We do need to spot them or someone needs to report them so that always helps

If the quote posts offering to share are still there and you report them they'll be removed too.

Good to hear, and appreciate you need to see the posts so will report them when I see them.

The quote posts weren't offering to share, they were quoting the men offering to share and calling them out.

Ok still worth reporting though

As my thread the other day showed, a lot of people won't report, they would rather find threads they find interesting and leave the inappropriate ones to gain traction

I guess it feels a bit like telling tales at school. My personal opinion that is that in cases like non consensual sharing of pictures it's actually keeping women safer (and men too if someone is offering their photo out) so why wouldn't you report!? 🤷‍♀️

Let's all pledge to report each and every time we see non consensual sharing of photos (or any other non consensual activity).

I want Fab to be full of decent people, not abusers
