A similar post did very well when I worked in Aylesbury a couple of years ago and I still meet the couple I met there.
So here goes, Retford or Gainsborough? Which would you pick? Working there in the near future.
I don't know either town so recommendations would be fab. |

Reford.
Gainsborough is only good at being the same amount of time away from everything worth going to. Big influx of people and 'growth' over the last few years due to new builds and an arrangement with Birmingham Council.
Built on all the flood planes, destroyed all the ancient furrow fields.
Further plans for more oil.
Doctors services are over stretched, ambulances can regularly take 4+hours, dentist lists are astronomical.
The shopping area is all paid parking, town centre has been gutted of long term shops. Do not recommend, best viewed in the rear view mirror |
