Bumble is changing to allow men to send the first message. Apparently this is because women still prefer men to make the first move.
Or is it because they've discovered how difficult it is and how few responses they get back? |

I deleted it years ago. Changing who sends the first message feels like rearranging the deckchairs. The problem isn't the number of interactions, it's the dating pool and the quality of the interactions, both of which are dire. |

So Bumble gave women all the power and they still said nahh we want men to message first, knowing they physically couldn’t do it on that app.
So now it will just be the same as every other dating app then? How pointless |

Bumble was literally the last (dating) app I was using...the fact that it allowed you to choose "something casual" or "ethical non-monogomy" on the "what are you looking for" section was a major factor...but probably even more so that it encouraged women to "make the first move". A few years ago they added an "opening " option, where women who didn't want to message first could add a question to their profile which allowed men to answer to (as a so called "opening ") ...I guess even that wasn't enough, given that they completely change the dynamic of the app. I'm still gonna refuse to message first 👎 |

Seems very odd to me. Not that I've ever used it but I mean a site whose singular premise is women message first, so men have to create a profile that's messageworthy in the first place? Sounds ideal to me.
Not least because there's that dynamic that if a woman initiates she's already interested. All you need to do as a bloke is not fuck it up by being an arsehole. Granted that's beyond many of us but still .. |

Bumble was by far the best dating app , the women messaging first is ideal if you get a message on there you know there intrested ( mostly ) I know some women would spam it lol , but they were easy to spot , i always made my intentions clear , worked well for me ,if there going to change it though I might give it miss , |

It was good at the start, but then I just got a load of “hi” or “how are you”
So I was initiating the conversation anyway.
Then the initial generic question they automatically sent made it worse |

That was also my experience. I just didn't answer. |
