Chose to use the "I think we will have to agree to disagree" phrase in here yesterday, when it became apparent that our views were so apart, it was pointless continuing the debate, after several ping pong posts each.
Do you ever look at a post and think.. It's not even worth contributing?

Every day
I don't get involved in the debate threads sometimes I will say my peice if someone doesn’t agree I leave them to it and rarely get involved with a response to them not liking my response.
We all have different views and opinions but life would be boring if we didn't. |

Sometimes I get dragged into debate stuff.
Sometimes I'll say my bit and leave it.
Sometimes I'll get right involved until the bitter end.
Sometimes when they ignore your valid point and just double down on their view, then I'll leave the thread. |

Sometimes. Sometimes I write out an eloquent reply, then pause and think fuck it.
You can’t argue with stupid!
I’m a lot better these days, I used to be super feisty in my early forum days. Can’t be arsed now. |

It's the joy of open forum people with have different views and thoughts and beliefs . We're all entitled to our own.

I think my subconscious is creating a small list of members whose comments, on anything, no longer register, which is really not me at all.  |

Sometimes i allow myself to be lulled into a back and forth debate and then i could kick myself after for biting.
Sometimes i say my piece and then never return as i know theyll be 20 people jumping on it.
At the end of the day we all have different opinions but some people try to force theirs on others and i just disengage in that scenario as there is literally no point in continuing the dialogue |

I often say it here and in real life. Mainly because I know that just because I hold an opinion doesn't necessarily make it right. Of course I am nearly always right but I know when to let sleeping dogs lie.  😝 |

Inevitably when i do voice an opinion I then read it back and inevitably spot a dozen typos 🙄

Sometimes I get involved, sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood. I've only had one heated debate on here and the person kept doing mental gymnastics. So I decided to stop replying. Plus others kept changing the subject so I got the hint. |

Absolutely this. Around 20 minutes ago I’ve been criticised for making a less than positive comment on a thread. This is a public forum, and open to all. There’s no point in posting any thread, if all you want is “Oh yes! Cheesey cheesey, slurp slurp, you’re the bestest thing ever!” replies from everyone……

Yep. When there are long walls of text quoted. When people start thinking their opinions, their experiences are fact and therefore dictate everyone else's. When the personal attacks come out rather than disagreeing with posts. A few more reasons but... generally, it's a can't be arsed feeling.
I love different threads, the daft, the mundane, the thinky - they still exist so I'd rather focus on them. |
