Birmingham beckons, a mundane training course enforced by my employer.
However, can any of you fine coterie recommend a decent place for mid-morning brunch? I've been to The Medicine Bakery but am looking for something equally appealing, something new and something central. |

Also had a nice time at six by Nico
It was a themed tasting menu of very nice food but not really a solo visiting place. A sort of Agatha Christie style murder mystery themed dinner that you solve with the clues delivered with each course. It was clever. I think it’s a circus theme now.
Yes it was delicious but I don’t know if it was worth the price tag, probably better if you’ve got company or as a group.

The best sushi and Japanese food I’ve ever had. Every single bite was divine. But wow it was also one of the most expensive meals I’ve ever eaten. |

Hurst St . Is a fab walk from New st... The gay quarter and Chinese quarter right next to eachother. And the BBB (Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar) if you are lucky enough to be there on the one Sunday of the month it's open.

I agree that Damascena near the Cathedral is a good choice. Or there's Dishoom near the Town Hall if you fancy a spicy brunch and perhaps a Breakfast Martini, which might make the training course more bearable.

Looked at up, imagining it'd be in the centre but it's out in Moseley! Admittedly just a quick Uber or slightly less quick 50 bus from city centre but not the handiest. |

Y'know, RTG, I can be a creature of habit: The Medicine Bakery is awesome in every sense, the food, the vibe and the contemporary decor. But I feel like I need to do justice to some of the kind recommendations that have been made. |

For a quick coffee it would be fine. I try and avoid the near-the-station coffee shops because of the quagmire of people with strollers and 'cases and the hurried 'feel' about such places. I wish to linger. |
