hi all, just wandering if and how you told your family or close friends that you swing, and how did they react?
our family and friends have no idea, and it would be easier if they did (babysitters!! lol)

i got a few really close friends that know,don't tell the family though not sure how they would react,if i told my mom i was a swinger she would think i go to dance classes...... |

What a cool dad ......... I think I would probably be the same if my 26 yr old daughter told me the same (if she was a swinger well she may be but not to my knowledge)

I'm very open about this part of my life with both my good friends and work colleagues. No-one reacted in any negative way just the opposite – one of my best friends has now gone as a couple to a swingers club and accompanied me as singles.
Get lots of questions and because of the openness i'm treated like I have answers – I don’t but it leads to amusing conversations in our office.
Have also introduced a friend to them and I think he’d agree there was no fall out, just accepted as a friend.
As for telling my family – yeah I could be honest with about 90% and am if it’s appropriate, but it would worry my parents so to date I haven’t gone there. I do try and get them particularly my mother to try and look at things differently and will challenge their/her more open prejudices of which there are many.  But like most they are products of both their generation and upbringing. Do know that even though this would worry them it wouldnt change our feelings for each other. |

Mine know, they babysit for me lol My mummy has been in the chat room with me,I'm trying to get her to give it a go, I keep telling her there's still a wild side in her yet but she's not having it though I think she's very tempted about the social side of it! She did say that if she was going to do it, I'd have to take her pics, she likes mine, she said she'd object if they got sleazy or tarty, so mother's approval has been sought pmsl xx |

few months ago I was flicking through fab profiles and came across my Sons, I was horrified for a few minutes (talk about double standards lol ). Most of my friends now I'm a 'Swingle', but not family although I'm pretty sure my Mom and Late Stepfather were Swingers... |

quite a few of my friends know and they are fine with it all.
My brother knows as well and again no problems with him.
And my boss at work knows and he is now considering joining Fab a he is single lol. |

My youngest daughter knows I meet via the internet for nsa.
I sometimes ask her opinion on issues she's great for mulling things over with.
My eldest would die if she knew. Inever ask her advice. I wouldn't get the answers I want and would probably find her in the middle of the night exorcising me.
I reared them both. Society has a lot to answer for :P |

his brother knows, and would like to give swinging a try but hasn't plucked up the courage.
a couple of her good friends know; one of them had just broken up with her man, and loved sex, so she invited her to come clubbing with us. the friend was shocked and said "how could you do that with strange men?"
we have a couple of friends whose teenage daughters know. apparently they say things like "going swinging again this saturday, mum?". don't know if we'd like our children knowing, even though they're very open-minded. |

If I was single with no children or had adult children then I don't think id have a problem telling everyone I was on a swingers site, after all most of the dating sites can be more outrageous than swingers sites but just go by a different name
Being married brings the issues of the sanctity of marriage and all that stuff and the shock horror of so called "wife swapping" (even though we only play with singles) which then brings another issue of what sort of husband lets his wife f**k other men and what sort of wife wants to f**k other men and I can't be bothered to explain the reasons why
More importantly though our sex life is private and although there are times I would love to tell people I think its best kept private and something that we share only between ourselves and the people we play with
Have to say though as our circle of swinging friends gets bigger and takes up more of our time it gets harder to explain to vanilla friends where we have been of a weekend and it gets harder not to just say "oh we were at a club in Brum/cambridge/kent and we had a great time" ect |

That's exactly it! My mum only lives up the road from me and our family is kind of a just walk in the house etc, she has keys and all that malarky. So if I'm having a party and they're not invited, they guess it's not wise to just show up at the door or walk in without phoning first lol xx |

most of my freinds know and i suspect my brother does . friends just had the usuall assumptions that we all sex crazed idiots who shag anything with a pulse , my brother hasent said too much about it , my mother kind of suspects i think but still not said anything .  |

my folks live in another country so not relevant, his are local but are so straight laced they would be horified, daughter is to young to be told but im sure we will when shes older.
we havnt told any vanilla friends, as we told one once and it spoiled the relationship as everytime we invited her round she thought we would hit on her |

a few of my best friends know. One found out because he 'borrowed' my iphone and i had been surfing fab at work on it lol
On the whole they have been supportive about it, telling me to be careful etc sure a few jokes and comments come my way but i dont let that bother me
i told my sister the other day and she was fine with it but i dont think i could ever tell my mum or dad. Funnily enough my mum thinks i'm a bit of a prude cos i dont like her talking about sex if only she knew
what makes me laugh is when i get asked 'any men on the scene?' standard reply is 'oh, you know - 1 or 2...' |

think my friends would love it, all men love the idea of seeing their wife/girlfriend with another woman. swinging is the best most fun way of having your cake and eating it.
it may slip out of the bag one day and make life easier.

I have always been open and honest with a selets few mates and we have had some very interesting chats about me and hubby being on here. most because my mates wish they had the confidence to join!!
My eldest daughter caught me perving pics once - she looked me up and down and said "MOTHER" I looked her up and down said "what?" she just walked into the kitchen got her drink (thats why she was out of bed cos it was after midnight) and went back to bed
A few days later she walked in on a conversation with a mate (my babysitter) and over heard something about us arranging a meet, so I said "ohh dont you know sweetie I sleep with loads of guys of the net" she looked at me and said "yeah right mum" and went back out with her mates - so she dont believe the truth

My mums reaction was, well your an adult now its not upto me what you do anymore, tho she clearly wasnt happy about it and the subject was never bough up again, i didnt tell her by the way she found out by accident |

Had some funny reactions ....
My mum was jealous as they had been invited to a party yrs ago, she was all up for it but Dad bottled it at last minute lol.
Good mate was like how the hell can you??? But then went on to say he had a great time in his youth as a Red Coat and had even done one where they put car keys in a pot lmfao at dbl standards of a single fella whos now "happily" married!
1 fella won't invite me round any more ........ think he's woirried I am after his wife, he should be more worried about Micky being after her lmao
Daughter has known for a few years. She was a bit freaked out at first till we pointed out she knew most of the folks because they are friends and so we had sociallised with them as a family! Made no diffence to her and she will even arrange to stay away if she knows we have friends coming over :
So all in all for us its been fine but each to their own!!!! |

I've told a couple of friends. My best friend of 20+ years is the biggest (self confessed) prude I've ever met and has no desire to know anything more about it. her Sister in Law however is a totally different matter
Another friends reaction was to say 'well, I did think your Husband was flirting with me' to which I replied 'he was, when are you next coming to stay?'
Then there are the 2 women at work, who know about my swing partner but think I'm having an affair with him LOL. At least it makes it easier to mention his name in conversation. |

Some of our family and friends know what we do, most have claimed not to be surprised by it, lol, One in particular however says we are weird, this coming from someone married just over 12 month ago and has since tried to get off (behind partners back) with an ex she was engaged to some time back, on top of that, she'e made plans to marry with 3 different guys in 3 consecutive years, and yet, we are weird. |

I don't think my friends and family need to be privy to every aspect of my life. I'd not let them know how much my house is worth, how much I have in the bank, how much I earm whether I'm sexually active etc. It's none of their business! |

We're new to swinging, and havent told anyone yet, although we've analysed our friends and family to guess what each would say if they knew... Some would be fine, we think, others would not get it at all. We're not too worried about the reaction to us swinging, but more bothered about them knowing we're bi, to be honest! There are only one or two who we think could accept that easily. |

My son knows i swing and he is 19 and also wants to be a swinger ( just not at any parties i go too) My mother and sisters also know as my twat of an ex husband made a point of downloading the pages from here and sending it to them, They havent spoken to me for a year in july.
Personally i didnt want them to know but wht can you do once its out!!.
I run parties and my son helps set up and he is very very open about sex and has no hang ups about asking me for advice, i just wish he would stop pinchin my condoms lol. But its funny if i am going out on a meet and he has a girlfriend round and its like a role reversal, - he is dishing them out to me and saying play safe lol. love him to bits. |

We have both confided in a vanilla friend, but haven't told family. Kate's mom is quite suspicious or curious of the number of friends we arrange to see, when we visit the midlands from Cornwall, because we always make a point of going to Chams. She has questioned "what are these parties you keep being invited too?".
We think our son's may have an idea, of the lifestyle we lead, given the comments we sometimes get from them when Kate dresses to "party", lol.
After on unsuccessful meet, we arrived home quite early, and our son said, "Why are you home early, didn't you fancy them?" So perhaps they know a little more than we think they do. |

My mom and my sister dont know we swing.
My mom wouldnt understand because of her age,
and my sister is so far up her self i know she would disaprove just for the sake of it.
Both me kids know what we do.
My youngest sone dosnt ask any questions but my eldest daughter sometimes rates those who cantact us.
We have a code in our house when pete and i go out.
If we are just going to meet mates its known as going "out".
If we are out swinging its known as "out out" lol.
The people i work with know i swing and on manday morning im always asked if ive dont a "bit of business" over the weekend lol, i tell them i like to call it entertaining.
My boss i think is a bit jelouse cos he always says "alright just cos your getting more than me" lol.
I have offered to take him to chams with me but i think he woud be more like a frightened rabbitt in head lights lol. |

Mine don't know and would disown me if they did know. But his parent's would tell him to get rid of me and was he sure the kids are his. Even though we only swinging a year. Have not told any friends as think it would shock them too much, have had a meet with very good school friend. So some do know but not in contact all the time so it makes no difference. |
