When did everyone get their first mobile phone?
I never had a mobile until I was 25 in 2001. Prior to that, when I was at Uni if anyone wanted me they had to send a letter, or if they were in a rush, put a 1st class stamp on it. |

Oooh. I had my first mobile in the first year of secondary school. So, i think 2001 (apologies to those who's age has been emphasised). It was a Nokia 3650 - bloody brick of a phone lol
...and i still have the same number from back then and the phone in pristine condition.

Showing my age, a nec 9a with etacs in 1987i was going to buy the Motorola . But chose that instead, because you could put it in your pocket, as long as the pocket was very big.
Cost me about 900 to buy and I think 25 a month rental , calls were expensive and no texting
It was massive in today's standards, but in 80's standards it was tiny, as it predecessor was very big, |

Was either a Motorola or an Alcatel in 1999/2000
Then a Nokia you could program your own ringtones in (spent ages nagging my Mum to find me loads and spent forever typing them in). I had a pink scooby doo case for it.

I can't remember exactly.
It wasn't before 1995 because that's the year I graduated. I don't *think* it was before 1997.
At a guess, I'd say '98 or '99.
I can't remember which model I had first. I can remember a few I've had along the way though. I've still got one of my earliest 'phones because it's pretty. |
