Greatest Action Movie?

Terminator 2 is on Film4 at 9 (+1 @10), and I thought I'd look it up on IMDB. One of the reviews said..... "the best action film of all time, and NOT due to the CGI"

Do you agree? If not, what then?

(We are talking about action, not plot... Crank 2 is a good action movie, but a terrible plot)

May not win an Oscar, indeed it didn't, but the greatest action movie of all time just has to be True Lies.

If only for the sight of Jamie Lee Curtis's tits and black lingerie.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Hmmm, both Arnie films so far. I'm going to add one too - Total Recall (the original, not the remake).

I wonder if Christopher Plummer got any action in The Sound of Music?

Envious if he did.

I doubt you'll let me have Star Wars.

Taken - Liam Neeson

technically u cant put a label on a movie that has a few genres mixed in, terminator 2 is a stunning film..I'd say BECAUSE of how the cgi was implimented..it is a SCI-FI movie though...

I'd probably say 'taken' and 'snakes on a plane'..as more plain but great 'action' movies over the last while

"Rambo First Blood"

I agree, but isn't it a war film, or is it a socio-political statement of 1970's America?, the film (apart from the film score) never won an oscar. Check the rubbish that actually won. Its a discrace! Apparently the book is really good but I've never read it.

War film, not action, but if it is permitted, I'd nominate Zulu.

However, sticking to action films, The day of the Jackal. Edward Fox deserved to get away with it if only for the amount of effort.
