Love is......Like Oxygen is a song by the British band Sweet, co-written by the group's guitarist Andy Scott and Trevor Griffin, a musician who had played with various unsuccessful bands before becoming a roadie and sound engineer, and released in January 1978. The song was a departure from earlier recordings by the Sweet, which were more guitar-driven and featured high vocal harmonies. The extended album version of the song, which appeared on their album Level Headed, incorporates strings and has some disco elements.
Their first release on the Polydor label after their departure from RCA, it was also their last Top 10 hit, reaching # 4 in New Zealand, # 6 in Switzerland, # 8 in Belgium, Canada and the United States # 9 in United Kingdom and # 10 in West Germany.[1]
Later that year it was honoured with a Song of the Year nomination at the Ivor Novello awards, although beaten by "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty.

Love is getting out of a warm bed at 3am because he's d*unk and can't get a cab,driving miles to get him and his mate,dropping his mate home then making him a sandwich and cup of tea before getting back in bed. And it was freezing out |

I've done that a few times in my lifetime! Once the only clue I had was that he'd spotted a b & q ! I found him asleep on the pavement outside !
Love is - when they're no longer in this world. You'd give everything you had to have 5 more minutes in their company. |

I disagree, the only man I ever loved apart from jay I stopped loving, it took about two years before I realised I didn't love him anymore. But I have always been pretty good at cutting emotions of to things in general. I just stuff them in a box and stick them in the cupboard  |

Is there an early stage to love, I'm not so sure, when it hits you, it's pretty full on and all consuming, you want to live and breath that person and nothing else matters, maybe love is a different thing to different people, there's no right or wrong, no rhyme or reason, no explanation, it just is. Everybody should experience it at least once in their life. Good luck |

I'd go along with that, my good lady ex wife left me a couple of years ago, she's on her second boyfriend since me and has treated me quite badly when all I do is bend over backwards to keep her happy. Hand on heart tho, I can honestly say I will love that woman til the day I die and I don't think I'm capable of feeling that way about any other woman. Love is the greatest feeling in the world but it hurts like hell  |

When you havent experienced it fully and it slowly creeps up on you with someone you never expected yes! Also when there is still a part of you that is cautious and scared to let yourself be in love

I agree. You may have memories of how the love was with the person you loved, but you've stopped loving them now - it's past. I've sometimes felt emotionally positive towards them, some affection, but it's not that type of love. |
