We are out at a friends house tonight and knowing them, there will be frozen pizza, bowls of crisps and lots of cheap pop.

But sod it, we are there for the fun and the company, not the food.

I'm slaving away in the kitchen making Duck Wontons, Mini Scotch Eggs, Palmiers, and Cheese Croquets.

All from scratch lol. Hard work and I'm shattered.

A lovely lady is cooking a rather nice chicken Tikka or similar for us this evening so I am seeing 2015 in with a big smile.

But I have a New Year's resolution to cut down on daft foods, eat less and go to the local Health club. Added a few pounds and need to get rid. I hope I have the will to keep going after my free '12 Days of Fitmas' is over at the club ....

We will have a cheese board, pate, breads, crackers and nibbly bits, this is my favourite.

At Christmas the greengrocer delivered my fruit and vegetables and I went wrong with the celery order, ending up with absolutely loads of it. Hopefully some of it will go with the cheese tonight

We went to a lovely Turkish restaurant this afternoon so nothing much tonight just nibbles if we get peckish.

Tomorrow I have a house full so easy meals of lasagne, garlic bread, salad and jacket spuds then making Jamie Oliver panettone tart for desert

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I just had a slice of toast with marmite and one with pineapple jam. I wanted something scratchy for my sore throat and tasty enough to get through this cold.

I'm happy now.
