I actually like the feeling haha long time since i been on it tho. Definatly cured the pain, yes masterbating did take a while and also when i moved my head left to right or vice versa it appeared that there was a delay in my vision asif my head moved quicker than my sight haha also kept having deja vu's. They are highly addictive too so only take them if your in pain. |

I swapped from Codeine, which is much more addictive, to Tramadol a couple of months ago. Although Tramadol is a stronger substance it is synthetic. It does however play havoc with ma sleeping patterns and the constipation is quite unpleasant to say the least |

"Be careful with tramadol, can be very addictive especially for people like myself (and yourself I think) with bipolar x" yes that's why I'm being really careful because of my other medication.
I really am only taking them when needs be but I just can't believe how they take the pain away when nothing else touches it

i fell over last week, knocked myself out and suffering but just taking ibuprofen rub, tablets and paracetamol. some of my squeals from sudden pain in public have alarmed others, so probably should have had something stronger like this. |

My doctor asked if I wanted to try Tramadol instead of co codamol but I decided I would leave it in reserve for the future when I'll probably need something stronger, otherwise what options will i have?
My back went out on Christmas eve and I had to get something more than co codamol as it wasn't touching the pain. I got dihydrocodeine and valium, which helped a lot. The pain is still there but I can bear it, I spend a lot of time sleeping though!
What I can't get my head around is why i wasn't prescribed the same when I had shingles. I was in excruciating pain and all they gave me was over the counter strength co codamol! |

It doesn't work that well for me. I don't find it much better than over the counter cocodamol.
The last time my back went out the only thing that helped were volterol suppositories. They tried 3 different treatments before finding something that worked. I ended up in A&E because my back locked up over the weekend and I couldn't move.
Diazepam usually helps too but a lot of doctors are not keen on prescribing that. |

I was on them for six weeks with broken bones in foot, they were very effective and a good side effect I wasn't hungry at all on them, so ate to live rather than lived to eat. Tailed them off gradually as recommended and OMG I withdrew, even before stopping them completely. Irritability, unable to sleep and the worse thing was restless legs every evening/night. So bad that most nights I was still up and pacing at 3am, not good when leave for work at 7.30!
Took my last tramadol ten days ago and last night I actually slept a seven hour night all the way through, just hope that's it now
I am allergic to codeine and can't take NSAIDS because of asthma so it was the only drug I could have for the pain I was having really, but don't think I would ever take it again.
My brother in law is a pharmacist and he was saying that some consider tramadol to be a whole life drug and should only be prescribed for pain that's permanent because of the awful withdrawal |
