Can be a right pain when you end up skint even at the early part of the month.
Have you had moments where you had to pay bills, rent and put money away, you end up a bit short on money to do anything? |

As long as you have a roof over your head and food on the table then that's all that matters. |

It's called life my friend. It's gonna be the same for a lot of people in these dark times of financial squeezing. We make sure all of the household bills are paid before we entertain any extra curricular activities that cost.
If there's none left, we go without.....It's a bummer but better than having no roof over your head. |

Fair point but it can get quite boring doing the same stuff at home everyday until the next payday |

"Anyone ever got so bored, they felt like tearing their hair out?"
No, I can always find something to be doing to keep me occupied.
Work is quiet so when I'm at home, I learn new skills.......study new things........indulge my hobbies. There's a whole world out to discover......being bored is a state of mind you can do something about. |

I find it helps if you make a spreadsheet of all incomings and outgoings. Then you can budget and see exactly how much money you will have left. Worked for me for a few years. Still skint but it's less stressful |

Ideas are floating around the brain all the time. Just discipline yourself to get them down....
Write a book on being skint.
Check the market to see if there is a need.

Good advice. What I usually do is add up how many hours I've done at work up to its cut off date and then multiply it by my minimum wage and then minus my rent and savings money to see how much I would have left |

Yeah it is. Although sometimes I do get less hours due to quiet months at work increasing chances of my rent and savings money taking up half my wages |

Yep... Not often these days but now and again. Enjoy the free time you have, walks in the outdoors, museums (in leeds they're free) libraries loads of stuff to occupy yourself,..
I'd like more free time to enjoy these things. |

Don't worries there's no offence at all. I don't think I'm struggling as much with me living with my parents and my minimum wage is 6.50 an hour |

I'm in employment but not for enough hours. Yesterday my account had £4.62 in it, but that doesn't include the shopping I bought on Saturday, the tank of petrol and a month's worth off dog food @ £75 per month I bought.
So I'm already overdrawn. Been in this state for about 8 months. Thank GOD I start my new job on 1 April! |

£75 for a months worth of dog food is quite reasonable, we spend about £80 per month on cat food for 3 cats

£55 for James well beloved is just a wowzer. You can get the Lamb and Rice on Amazon for £40 delivered - unless it is a hypo allergenic variety, shop around, there are a lot of wholesalers around.
You can get working dog food that is VAT free too. Vitalin Sensitive Lamb and Rice is A brilliant kibble - around £30 delivered for 15kg - the ingredients are 33% Lamb and 26% Rice. (google 15kg or you will only find the 12kg variety), this is one of the better cheaper dog foods - it have beaten brands well above it's price bracket.

personally I use fish4dogs, it does cost £55 per 15kg or £100 per 30kg delivered. But because of the protein content - you dont have to over feed him. The bag lasts a good 7 weeks, feeding 7-800g per day. James wellbeloved was taken over by Pedigree some years ago - one of the reasons I turned away from it. |

I can't remember the last time I did something out of the house that cost money... What do people do? Cinema, bowling, out for a meal? As a single parent out of work (waiting for new job to start, dbs check pending) I'm not only short on money but the opportunity to spend it!
I'm rarely bored though. Got plenty to do. Reading, knitting, sewing, jewellery making, download some new free apps and waste some time playing those, baking.. Then there's the cleaning and tidying and if I'm desperate I'll iron something!

one of the dogs is on a wheat free diet, one of them is a chihuahua who is raw fed because of bowel problems - kibble is too big for their tiny guts. The other one will eat anything with no problem at all. |
