A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

I'm pretty addicted to all these programmes which have people looking for holiday homes or are moving abroad for a better lifestyle.

I've considered Portugal, Spain & Italy simply for the sun, slower pace of life, culture & because I just love that Latin look.

Where would you consider moving to & why?

Or do you already have a bolt hole somewhere more exotic?

Do you think you'd still continue your swinging?

(Any other business).

Discuss.

I prefer the exotic in drinks only.

There's no such thing as a place with perfect weather.

France is swarming with mozzis in the summer.

Italy is way to hot

Greece is to dry

I like cornwall in good weather!!

And that's really exclusive as it only happens 3 days a year

So a bit like Scotland's summer? Lol.

Cornwall & Devon are beautiful. I've visited many times as a kid but the property there is extortionate. I do miss the ice creams though. Happy memories.

I'm looking at moving to Brazil for my retirement. Been there before and it's my favourite place in the world xxx

Yeah blame foreigners! .. Sorry I mean Londoners with their cheap holiday homes!.

The truth is there's better weather and places in this country than people realise.

I'm lucky and can take holidays when the weathers nice.

Might pop down to the lizard this weekend camping

I hadn't considered Brazil, though only because I've never been but at least they speak Portuguese (of sorts).

Don't get me wrong there's many beautiful places in the UK but I'd still much rather enjoy the experience of retirement in a warmer climate, & the challenge of integrating into a different culture that's a bit different from my own. Otherwise I'd go to one of the Scottish Islands where the pace of life is slower & more laid back but let's face it the weather can be brutal at times. Lol

Oh retirement nice

South of France as near to the coast as possible

Winters are very short

Only about 4 weeks where the summer heat is very pervasive.

You can drink from the tap and its about as tolerant as you'll find outside of the UK.

Plus the wines cheap

by the beach

We are in Florida at the moment, (not Orlando far away from the maddening crowds) slow pace of life , good weather and still reasonably good value. Will be here for 3 months then back to Cornwall just after all the crowds depart winter there is wonderful people are wonderful and as long as you wrap up the weather is not a problem.

Best of both worlds we think feel very fortunate.
