The place I usually take morning coffee is advertising Valentines supper at £24.95 per person.
Per person? Do some people go on a Valenties supper on their own? |

An annual 24 hour guilt period for unromantic peeps to feel pressured to do something romantic - we are anti valentines day and are intentionally mean to each other all day just to spite it |

Saint Valentine whose feast is celebrated on February 14 is a bit of a farce as nothing is known about the person except his name and that he was buried at the Via Flaminia north of Rome on February 14. It is even uncertain whether the feast of that day celebrates only one saint or more saints of the same name.
Valentine's Day" as it is now…. Was first documented in Geoffrey Chaucer's Parliament of Foules sometime in the 1300s and set in the fictional context of an old tradition, there is no such tradition before Chaucer mention of it
So national lets spend a fortune swapping chocolate love tokens day,, is nice if you like it…. but surely you can do that spontaneously any day of the year showing a special someone you love them and make it an even more romantic gustier in doing so…..
Yaeh yeah,,,,, I know,,,, ya think I’m a Humbug

A day I used to when I was married and also in a relationship. Never felt it was important because I felt loved all year round and one day didn't make any difference...I was always treated like a Queen.
Funny thing is, now I'm on my own I do miss the fuss. I used to take things for granted.
Oh well...who knows what next year will bring! |

Rip off.
If we have to force each other to be romantic on just one day of the year then the rest of the year must be rubbish !
Be romantic all the time and it won't cost you anything most of the time |

Rip off!
Price for flowers get inflated to stupid money, including yellow roses, my favourite, as a result, I seldom get flowers for my birthday which is a few days before 14 Feb.
If one loves another person, he/she should tell the other person how much she/he means to him/her every day, and not just on special days such as 14 Feb, Christmas and birthdays IMHO! |
