"Gawd help us, its just news of the day.
Used to have em big as cats round the farm. one barrel still skinned em no matter how big they were."
What scruffy jacks we're made for too ...

Mild winter and few people control them.
My old fella has a couple of allotments for his hens and this year has been mental for them. Trapping two and three of them every single day. Some big buggers too! Not as big as the one in the link (not looked but i imagine it's the same story as on facebook) but notable in that they seem to be getting bigger year on year.

Changed my mind now:
African Pouched Rats are not domesticated animals. They require lots of love, attention, exercise, space, time and money if they are going to be kept as a successful pet. If you keep one of these animals the chances are that you will get bitten, they will destroy your furniture and they will keep you up at night. They will also delight and amaze you and, on balance, they are worth it. |

And we all know how good some guys are at making things look bigger |

"Yeah but how big is it next to a sky remote???"
There seems to be a missed opportunity here for some enterprising person to manufacture 1/2 sized replicas for sale at inflated prices to the under inflated |

"This was on radio five, a listener thinks it was some sort of water rodent from Norfolk....
First thing I thought, is does it have webbed feet " Coypu ? A Introduced species but reed beds are their home even thou they may be a bit Invasive in them their not a menace and have lived here for sometime now perhaps the same size as a beaver. |

"i'd love a pet rat that big.
It's a Siberian Hamster like the one Manuel had in Fawlty Towers. "
Hadn't seen that clip (or much of the series tbh) but i used to have that exact cage for my hamster, that ate it's way out of that cage and we never saw it again... |

Eurgh, I used to work as a mechanical engineer and dismantle spraybooths and service them and you'd find dead birds and all sorts in the filters all the time hence why I used to do the job :D |
