Ive been told a few times that im shy...no problem with that. The problem is when messaging ppl and they do there research they say oh your shy...im after real men etc. Is it more acceptable for ladies to be shy(cute) but not a guy?

im shy
the problem i always had was some people think you`re being arrogant or unfriendly when you go quiet around them
but then once you`re cool with someone and start opening up it all changes

"The quiet ones are the worst so they say
I'm quite shy myself "

It's not a negative though , if everyone was extrovert - we would all never get a word in. I'm shy - but less shy than I was in my youth. I'm not shy though when confident in my surroundings.

I can very much relate to this, it's not just about being shy but also for me a trust thing but they go hand in hand, get to know me and I open up |

It probably is more acceptable for a woman to be shy/cute. I know plenty of guys who hate being called cute because it's not 'manly.'
I've heard the 'I'm after real men' line before too. Each to their own but I'm really shy and let's face it, I'm adorable, that doesn't mean I'm not a 'real' man, whatever that actually means.

I can be very shy but moreso in a social setting like a party than meeting 1 person for a coffee
I do agree with the idea that the quiet ones are the worst |

Shy can also be misstaken for miserable and instead of thoughtfull.
I too can be that shy, simply listening to what being said only saying something if relevant.
Personely if a lady says i,m to shy i take it as a compliment. If however the comment " is no, i,m looking for a real man " its an instant turn off..no matter how attractive i find them..
Cos i,m, not going to come up to there exspectations not that i would want to.. |

"I prefer men who aren't overly arrogant.
I'm alittle shy too so it wouldn't be an issue for me if a guys was shy. "
I've just looked through your pics. .. absolutely no reason at all for you to be shy! |

I prefer shy guys, so long as they can chat a bit then i'm happy to take the lead and not shut up talking to them.
I think if they're sexually inexperienced and shy then that isn't so sexy, and some guys i've met are like that and it's kind of nice to be their teacher so to speak but i do prefer a guy to know what he's doing in bed and not leave everything down to me sexually, although i don't mind being bossy in bed also and asking for what i want so idk maybe it doesn't matter too much. |

I'm fine with public speaking, delivering training and presentations but when it comes to initiating conversation with some one I fancy my brain turns to mush.
Once I know they are interested in fine and my brain resumes normal consistency - this would be less of a problem if I was any good at picking up on flirting or reading "the signs" |

I used to be quite confident and outgoing but things that have happened in the last few years have knocked my confidence somewhat. The other day I even found myself going shy in front of someone I've known for a while which was a little bit awkward. I prefer to meet confident guys to bring me out of my shell abit |

I used to be a proper "shrinking violet" - extremely shy. But what I've found is that as I've become more mature (OK...older!) I've also become a lot more confident - although thankfully not to the point of being arrogant... at least, I hope not anyway?! |

I'm not shy but extrovert and introvert before I got married I was super confident it's took me 18 months without out sex to get half the confidence back and couple of wild flings to overcome were all human end of the day |
